What had happened back home in Saith Seren was not something that Quicksilver wished to dwell on, but there were times when he could not reign in his thoughts of failure. He'd made a grave error that cost him the support of his family, but from it he learned some valuable lessons: leadership was not something he was ready for, and old guys could still be tough. His father had seen seven long and successful years in his lifetime, his grand age fooling Quicksilver to believe that he had an opportunity to see Siorys' dethroning to success. Alas, the inexperienced yearling had been well and truly put in his place.
He would never forget the anguish in his mother's face as she wept for him, nor the pity in his sisters' eyes as they watched him leave with his tail tucked between his hind limbs as his sire exiled him right then and there. Quicksilver had done as was requested of him and left, his head low in defeat and without as much as a glance over his shoulder.
Life beyond Saith Seren had not been without its perks, however. Occasionally he would band together with other rogue yearlings, with whom he could hunt and spar with, until the time came to separate and pursue their individual paths. The latest youth he happened across, however, was particularly interesting. Sinaaq Something-Or-Other, black of fur and a face that looked as though he was constantly pissed off about something, was a wolf whose patience he regularly tested. And for some miraculous reason, he let Quicksilver tag along on his trip despite clearly not appreciating his fantastic sense of humour.
Until, however, a pretty young wolfess caught Quicksilver's eye. So when the silver yearling vanished in attempt to try his luck with her, Sinaaq failed to wait for him. He moved on, but the young Roux-Abrhen wasn't bothered by being left behind - he saw it as a challenge, and his made a new goal to catch up to his new buddy as swiftly as he could. Days later, certain that he would soon reunite with his raven-pelted companion, the familiar sound of his call caused his ears to prick and his pace to quicken.
Soon he slipped through the trees and, with a satisfied bounce in his step, eased to a relaxed saunter as he made to close the distance between himself and Sinaaq. "Thanks for waiting, asshole," he scoffed, though there was a glint of mischief in his eye. "Jealous, much? I totally would have asked if she had a nice girlfriend for you, by the way." Quicksilver grinned, even though his attempts at pursuing the female had been unsuccessful. It didn't hurt to pretend they were, however!
