While neither of the pair openly announced their disapproval of the look of longing Quicksilver had given the young Alphess, it was Sinaaq who hissed at him in that weird foreign language he regularly used to grumble his frustration. The sterling youth briefly blinked at his dark companion, clearly unphased by his irritation with him, and let a corner of his mouth turn upward slightly in a cocky smirk. He couldn't deny that there was a certain satisfaction in knowing he'd got on the guy's nerves. Quicksilver was a bold creature, one who actively went about testing the limits of others for his own amusement. He harboured no shame in being a pest.

Once again, the old timer seemed to glower in their direction as he spoke of how they would not freely share information of their pack. This was interesting. At once, Quicksilver's raven ears pricked forward, curious atop his silver crown, cool blue eyes trained on the sable-furred male before them. If this was the attitude he took toward loners who questioned their own suitability to integrate themselves into their ranks, it was no wonder that their numbers were thinning. It was one thing to demand loyalty and respect from newcomers, but as far as the peppered Roux-Abrhen was concerned, such things were earned. He was no expert in leadership, but Quicksilver had observed his father's rule with keen interest. It was important to remind others of their place, absolutely, but it was also necessary to be approachable and hospitable. To care about the wolves that one expected to follow them.

Their female host spoke up, however, appearing to (hopefully) take control of the situation by handling it far more gracefully. She admitted that they'd be willing to share information only if it was a place among their ranks that they sought, and when this was confirmed, politely asked what it was they wished to know. Quicksilver shot her a smile and a friendly swish of his feathery plume, and although he was tempted to throw in a suggestive eyebrow waggle, he was well aware of Kaname's judgement and did not just yet wish to dig himself a deeper grave. If they were to join the ranks of their pack, sure, he would try to steel himself. But should he enter this territory on the condition that he keep his distance from the fine Alphess, that was not promise that the young Roux-Abrhen was willing to keep.

Sinaaq answered swiftly, and the sterling youth eyed his comrade thoughtfully. He could see frustration build in him, expressed through the blunt way he spoke and the demands he made. Quicksilver let him continue in that grumpy manner, however, not wishing to rile him further by interrupting rudely and, when the opportunity arose, the ashen boy focused his attention on the duo who'd come to greet them. "Forgive my friend, darlin'," he directed toward the pale beauty, should Sinaaq's sour mood have ruffled her feathers, "he wears torment and misery like fuckin' carnival masks." No offense - you know I'm kidding, said his playful side-ward glance. "He's a butt, but he's one of the good guys. We are interested in possibly integrating ourselves here, but like Sinaaq said, it depends on whether we'd be suited or not. I personally would like to know how long this pack has been around, and if there are any issues with the locals. Conflict over territory or prey, perhaps?" The two young males had only just arrived, after all, and had not yet the opportunity to scout the land surrounding the gauge whether or not they were up another pack's ass in terms of boundaries. He'd rather hear opinions on that directly from the horse's mouth.
