While he was trying to think strategy, Peregrine seemed to be letting Fox decide whether they were going to participate. Fitz felt sorry for the two of them - no one had ever told him about his downside of family life. On the upside, at least he would get to see the process first-hand through their experience.

Back to the strategy at hand, FitzDutiful went for a hole less central, more on the outskirts. His strategy was with hope that the more central ones would have more wolves passing over and more chance of disruption. It might prove foolhardy but Fitz was dancing with lady luck today.
