Speak of the devil, Shadow thought dryly to himself as Jax bounded towards him like an excited puppy and wondered inwardly what caused him to be so happy. He was about to greet his subordinate when the fellow greyscale male beat him to it and called him 'Master'. If his stoically indifferent mask was not fixed firmly in place, a look of utter surprise and a raise of an eyebrow would cover his face. He had been called 'Master' a lot of times before, by Enya, his former slave, by the slaves of his natal pack and more. But this was his packmate, and calling their leader 'Master' was not appropriate.

Shadow retorted, though a small smirk graced his lips at Jax's next words and the bow that accompanied it. What were you doing before you saw me? Have you hunted for the pack today? Patrolled the borders?
