Fox's sides heaved, giving her the appearance of some crazy breathing apparatus. She felt hot and cold all at the same time, and her paws were sweating. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth in a perfectly unwomanly fashion. The darkness of the den was her only savior at that point, but when Peregrine's voice filtered through from outside, she made a noise that was somewhere between a whine and a growl. She wanted him in here, but at the same time, she didn't want him in here. The laboring (lol) wolf picked herself up and made a circle, only to go back to laying down again. Nothing was comfortable.
“This fucki—” she cut off, sucking in a breath of air when the muscles in her abdomen decided to spasm again. Her breath grew hotter, faster, and she tried to think happy thoughts. (She failed.) Hopefully Perry would understand that she really wasn't up to answering her questions. He could make the call for whatever was best, and then she could yell at him for doing the wrong thing. That sounded about right.
Another rush of pain and twisting went through her, and Fox grunted, gritting her teeth instead of cursing this time. If she thought that was the worst, she was far from correct. Fox whimpered as another spasm coursed through her body... but this time, she immediately knew. One little @Derp had come out to greet the world, and Fox instinctively cleaned the birth transportation unit off his body. He was a light creamy tan color, and she nosed him. He squeaked, and she smiled.
Of course, this was far from over.
