Brought up to present day, set March 19th
FitzDutiful was patrolling today, he was wandering around the inner borders of their land, ensuring that no one had come close. He had scented a few outsiders passing through the outer borders but they had been loners and quickly wandered off. Nothing to be too concerned with. As he patrolled he realised that he hadn't seen much of Copper, one of the first members of his pack. As he finished up his patrol route, he headed into the outer lands and called out for Copper and others to come and join him.
The last time FitzDutiful had seen the coppery wolf he had been talking trades and yet FitzDuitful had seen no sign of the male gaining any progress. He wondered if the other had decided not to bother with trades any more, a thought that saddened FitzDuitful. He believed that trades enhanced a wolf, gave you something to strive for and made you more valuable to your pack. He had been toying with the idea of bringing in some kind of system that gave wolves with trades more privileges - but he had yet to iron out the details.
He briefly wondered if anyone else would answer his call.

The forest around the grey wolf remained quiet, as it had for the past few days. He had wandered on and on, looking a place to stop. His hunger was starting to get to him, his limbs beginning to tire. The trek to this new land had been long, and he was in need of food.
He stopped at the sound of a howl. It sounded close by, possibly another wolf. He thought back, not remembering crossing past any scent boundaries. His mind shifted back to the other wolf. Maybe, this wolf could help him. Although he knew it was risky, he returned it with his own, hoping the other wolf would answer.
That was several days ago. Now, Chaska wandered that same path, remembering how that wolf had saved him. He heard a howl from nearby, and recognized it as the same wolf who was there that day. In an instant, he howled back.

Another wolf answered and FitzDuitful paused. Who was that? Then he remembered Chaska, the wolf he had accepted into the pack a few days ago. Happy, Fitz barked out that he was on his way and ran towards the noise. It was an exhilarating run and he skidding to a halt in front of the grey, male wolf.
"Hi Chaska!" he said, joyfully, "It's good to see you again, how are you getting on?" He tried to remember what trades the male had been interested in. He vaguely remembered a discussion about Chaska becoming a warrior but, in truth he had been very distracted that day. It had been a while since his discussion with Bindi but he still hadn't really talked to Raissa about it - that was still on his to do list now. The puppies were close to arriving and FitzDutiful was taking the cowards way out and not discussing any major points with her. He recalled how she had blown up about making Bindi beta.
But now wasn't the time to worry about that, now was to be focused on Chaska. He waited for a question to be answered.

Chaska took a step back as a light grey, male wolf skidded to a stop before him. He bowed his head in a sign of respect, for this was the alpha of the pack he had recently joined.
"Hello." he replied to FitzDutiful's greeting in a low voice. "I was just wandering, getting to know our territory." A question came to mind, but he didn't want to push it, so held it back. Instead, he came out with another. "How are you on this day?" he asked. He rested his hind legs by sitting down, awaiting a response.

Just so you know, feel free to have more than one thread going at a time ^_^ As far as time-lines go, everything usually takes place on the date the first post is made.
Chaska asked FitzDutiful how things were going and the male seriously thought for a while before replying. "I think they're good." he said. This probably was pretty far from the truth. He had been avoiding his mate for fear of making her flee with his puppies, he'd been spending time with Bindi and developing feelings that he didn't even know if she shared and he feared he was making the tension between his two women even worse.
"I think my pups'll be arriving soon! There's about a month to go!" he exclaimed. At least, Raissa had assured him there was about a month and he was adhere to her knowledge on this matter. After all, surely women knew more about this matter than he did. He was still debating going back to Caldera and getting Peregrine's outlook on Raissa's mood swings. But that involved leaving the two women by themselves and... that had potential for disaster! "I did tell you we were expecting puppies when you joined, right? He was sure he would have but nowadays he couldn't remember who he had talked to about them and who he hadn't
"It's going to be all hands on deck when they arrive!" he gushed.

Thanks for the tip
Chaska was glad Fitz was doing well. Probably better than himself, since his pups would be arriving anytime soon. As if Fitz read his thoughts, he told Chaska about how long it might be till they arrive. Chaska felt a little excited for him, but he wasn't the type to jump for joy, so he just smiled.
"No, I don't believe you got around to it. I truly am happy for you." And he was. His tail wagged at the news.
"You can count on me" he said after Fitz's final remark.

"Thanks!" FitzDutiful replied happily, little did he know that in only a few days time drama would unfold, the likes he had never seen. For a wolf who had grown up with a whole family he was doing a shoddy job of replicating that.
That was far in the future, however, and it was time to return to the here and now. "So, tell me something about yourself." FitzDutiful said, wanting to know more about his latest recruit. He was gathering that Chaska was a wolf of few words and he wanted to give the grey male the chance to show otherwise. Not that being a silent onlooker was a bad thing, FitzDutiful just needed to know who made up his pack.

Chaska thought over Fitz's question. He didn't like telling others of his past, so he went with telling him just the simple things.
"There isn't much behind this wolf. I'm tough inside, and out. I am very loyal, as well. And as you've probably noticed, I'm not one of those chatty wolves. I'm quite the opposite. Anything else?" he asked. He hoped it was enough, but was glad to answer further questions. But that would have to wait when he felt a grumble from his stomach region. And he knew what that meant. Soon, he would have to eat.

My last post, one more from you and this'll class as complete for exp purposes ^_^
It appeared as though Chaska was having to take time to decide what to say, it piqued FitzDutiful's curiosity. Was he actually trying to find something interesting to say or did he have a dark past he was trying to hide from? When Chaska started to speak, FitzDutiful went with the former option. He would have to try and find ways to encourage the man to open up.
"Nope not really!" FitzDutiful really was in a very cheery mood today, it was good. It had been a long time since he had been this happy. The sound of a stomach rumbling cut through the air, muffled but audible. "I'll let you go get some food. If you can't catch anything, I think the cache's are in good supply at the moment. Enjoy!"
With that he lay down and watched as Chaska presumably moved off in search of food.

Thanks for doing this!
Chaska listened to Fitz's as he was told where to get food. He nodded in understanding, and gave a bow of his head in farewell, then headed off to find something to eat.
