Rowan felt restless. Her emotions swung wildly, moving from remorseful to erratic, the witch unable to even herself out. Her mind constantly strayed to the dark druid, his eyes like an unpolished gemstone - clouded almost, and even more now. She woke with a start in the early hours of the morning, finding the pack itself still asleep - she had seen no one since Lasher's death and she had not sought anyone out. Her heat had only gotten worse it felt, but now, the feeling was over and she felt rather normal again.
It was the thought that overcame her that she was being watched. She could not see anyone though, she just felt it. She stood, her grey eyes narrowing as she looked over the expanse. The grounds were green again and life had come to the forest. Still, somewhere out there, she felt eyes on her. Around her.
The stirring made her move and she was guided by soft whispers, a familiar voice indeed, out to the plateau. A soft sigh against her cheek, breath along the back of her neck, a little whisper of her name. "Taltos," She rasped, fresh tears in her eyes. "You should not have left us," But what choice did he have, to ignore the bidding of her long line?
The witch fell into silence, closing her eyes and opening her ears, straining to hear him again.
And I know that I can survive
I walked through fire to save my life
I walked through fire to save my life

It was her own simple curiosity that brought Menta in through her Sequoia Coast exploration, passing down the coast quickly to see just how far it would run. She had seen some of these coast lines from her perched view up on The Wall - that seemed like ages ago - but just how great down it went, she had not been fully prepared for. The Ryūjin wolf had made her pace swift for her own amusement's sake, abandoning her usual slow and steady gait that she had kept as a lone wolf in an effort to not expend much energy, and found joy in how her paws brought the sand back up with her body with each running step.
It had been a good while, now, since she had been in Ryūjin. Menta knew she needed to return home soon, her rare and lucky finds of small rodents not satisfying her grumbling stomach. She had grown up spoiled as a pack wolf with bountiful food, and there had been overwhelming relief when Ryūjin offered her the bits of food that they had when she turned in her hungry lone wolf hat. But for now, a distant cream dot ahead pulled her attention away from such thoughts.
Menta pulled back her gait into something more cautious, still continuing forward but backing off on her speed. The dot became a wolf shape, and more cream than the stark whites Menta had seen in this area so far - just like her own family's colors ocassionally came in, just like her mother and herself. The female wolf felt the pang of homesickness as she walked closer, still leaving many feet between them when she came to a halt.
Hello, she called out with a loud bark, not able to see the wolf's closed eyes or forlorn facial expressions. Menta gave a couple wags of her tail in hopes that it presented the friendliness she wanted to portray. While she wasn't fool enough to think that this other female was some kind of family member, her heart automatically warmed in excitement.
