She had reached the bottom of the mountain. Her old territory.
She took a few steps, walking into the terriory for the first time in what had felt like forever.
"Mommy." Odette breathed, but now it was too late, her Mother had turned into a bloody heap... a corpse. Then her Uncle placed meat from her Mother before her.
For a moment she stood still, surprised, the flashback had been so quick so sudden... more memories came flashing back... it was too late to turn away now.
She ran fast, paws pounding on the Earth, she hadn't found her Brother but she had to go. Uncle Steady had killed Mommy, she couldn't stay here longer, because if she did perhaps she would die just like her Mother and they would eat her too.
"NO!" She shouted. "SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" She yelled to no one in paticular. She didn't care if someone heard her now, She wanted it to go away, she didn't want to relive what had been done.
She crossed the border and began making her way up the Mountain.
There was snow falling, yet she barely noticed this as she walked through her once beloved home. It seemed unfamiliar now... yet recognizable all the same. Time went by, hours felt like minutes and the sun began to set, the moon rising.
And then she saw it... or she thought that was it. The old den that she'd shared with her family. It was quite obvious it hadn't been used in a while with all the wear and tear, but still she found herself stilled, staring at it in silence as she thought of what had been.
She moved on.
Up the path to the ledge where she and Steady had once talked. An anger burned so fierce within her as she walked that she thought her head might explode. How foolish she had been to think that he really loved her like true family. In the end all he was was a monster. He was no Uncle in her eyes.
She reached the place.
Odette was grateful that Uncle Steady kept moving the branches to make it easier for her to make her way through the terrain. Then they were there. Odette's jaw literally dropped open at the view. It was just downright goregous.
The veiw was still was beautiful but she shivered uneasily at the memory, how could someone so friendly to her do what he did to her? Of course a monster... but still how could someone become what he had?
She walked away from that place, possibly for the last time... but maybe not... maybe some day she would be back.
Someday.
She then made her way towards her Father's burial place, where she assumed her Mother was, and her Brother's grave too, to pay her respects. Her ears drooped as she stared silently at where she was pretty sure the graves were, wishing that things could've been different... but that was not the case here and never would it be.
She collasped sometime later with sorrowful cries for those that she had love and had left this world.
Hours went by and then she found herself beginning to pad back down the mountain.
It was morning now and the sun rose again in the sky as time flew by. Odette found herself now at the edges of the Silvertip territory wondering what to do next. She could search for what she had heard Valette call Easthollow, where Steady resided. Anger burned within her at the thought. He would pay, she would make him feel her pain.
But the Fen... she couldn't leave them like this, especially in the winter, after all they had done for her... and so she would have to wait for the right moment, the right time to hurt him for what he had done.
Only then she thought could she try to fully move on, but until then she would just have to wait.
The shadow of the mountain lay over her now as she walked across the border leaving Silvertip behind.
With that she walked away, staring into the darkness.
