Thur is near the borders so anyone welcome!
The grip they have on Dragoncrest Cliffs is something similar she once felt on Sleeping Dragon but she knows better than to feel comfortable. Having been a leader for a long time, longer than she’s been alive at barely three years old, she knows things come and go so easily to disrupt the way things flow. Sleeping Dragon had other ideas and she often wonders if those they lost in the anger of the beast have perished. She does not want to think they moved on from the wolves that brought them into this world, from those that have kept them safe and protected them, but the thought lingers somewhere in the back of her mind. Turning tail on Drageda is as much of a death sentence as betraying someone from within.
As Thuringwethil loiters near the southeastern border of Drageda, she thinks about Ceres and her lack of return. There has been no information on the grotto since they’ve come to the coast. If the wolves have disappeared from Larksong, Ceres likely would have returned by this point but the threat something worse happened can’t be ruled out. Going to the grotto alone is not safe, especially with two wolves not returning from their missions.
Pulled from her thoughts, she turns her head when a sound disrupts the background. Glancing over her shoulder at the rustling, her fur bristles in reflex and she slowly pulls all the way around. The brush moves in the distance between the scent of a squirrel tickles her nose and eventually breaks through and skitters from its cover to the nearest tree. Thuringwethil does not pursue it despite the desire too but the debate is cut short as the rodent circles its way up the tall redwood trunk.

Bobby had been tracking this dumb squirrel for a while now. It had escaped his clutches when he'd leaped for it earlier, and he hadn't stop running since. He'd chased it all the way to the border of Drageda, and if it hadn't stopped there he would've continued galavanting right on past his mom and the edge of their territory. He watched it spiral up the monster of a tree, its fluffy tail twitching mockingly from a branch high above. He barked at it angrily a couple times, his melted sunlight eyes very squinty as he looked straight up.
He was still so caught up in the fact that he'd failed to catch the bird, that he failed to notice Nomi nearby. He just kept barking and jumping and looking very stern, as if that would coax that prey animal down.

Not soon after the squirrel disappears does a bumbling and loud puppy come barking up the tree. She shakes her head a little and stands still, letting him work through trying to get the creature down, before eventually she feels a little embarrassment for him. Thuringwethil takes a deep breath before she barks, once, in an attempt to draw his attention away from his lost prey. “That is not the way to lure it back down,” she says after a moment, taking a step closer to round the tree. Her nose points upward as if she’s able to see the squirrel, targeting it as sharpshooter. After a beat, her attention drops back to her son.

Bobby opened his mouth to bark at the squirrel again, only to find that the bark that should've came from his mouth came from another. He whirled around to see his Nomi, standing nearby. His tail wagged slightly when he saw her, surely she could help him get the animal down! She told him he was doing it wrong, and Bobby frowned.
How else I'm supposed to do it?He said with a confused tone. He watched as his Nomi made her way around the tree and looked up at the squirrel. Bobby looked too, and watched as it's twitching tail mocked him. Angered by it, he barked one more time, just because.
She expects the question to follow and before she answers, he barks again. Briefly, she closes her eyes and takes a moment to gather herself before she steps close and lowers her nose to touch the top of his head. “You won’t be able to. It knows you’re down here. No amount of waiting will bring it down, even in silence,” she says, looking back up. The redwoods are separated relatively even from one another but it won’t stop a squirrel. “They can jump from one tree to another, if close enough… and it’s probably trying to figure that out. Your best bet is to find something else.” Thuringwethil licks her lips then, certain he won’t really like the answer but there is not an alternative to give him. “Let’s go,” she then tells him, turning her large form back in the direction she’d originally been going.

Bobby pursed his lips in a pout as Nomi said the words he didn't want to hear. He wouldn't be able to. That really sucked because he'd been looking forwards to eating the squirrel, and he wasn't patient enough to wait it out. He'd just go catch something else then. Thur thought the same thing, about hunting something else. It was a good idea, though that squirrel would still taunt his thoughts for a little while. He looked back up at it one more time, stuck his tongue out at it then followed his mom.
Where we going? He asked, walking in step with her.

Robin doesn’t linger on the lost squirrel for long and is quick to question their motives. When she looks at him, she gauges his interest and her own expression remains lost on her features. She doesn’t grant him an answer right away. Both sons have shown an interest in hunting in some way, an influence heavily implied by their mother, and she can only give them so much. She’s a skill hunter but it is not her specialty and where she worked as a child, wishing to embark some of the same knowledge even if they chose a different path.
She does not bring it up yet and continues to lead the boy through the forest until they find the next best thing to squirrel.
