All Welcome
she'd run until she couldn't, splashing through the salt water and the river that'd crossed the sand. she collapsed briefly in the cover of a rock tangle, not even bothering to pick the sand, snow and grit from her fur. she certainly looked a sorry mess and awoke after only a few hours of choppy sleep.

the scent she'd noticed with engel surrounded her still, and she recoiled. it served only to remind her of what she'd done, and she lurched to her feet with her tail tucked low and her head hanging. for lack of anything to do, she moved forward again, searching for a respite in the mindless movement.

After begging @Poet to keep silent about her departure - for the time being, at least - Sif had gone out from the valley and into the taiga, skirting the pack that had cropped up there in order to reach the coast. She'd sniffed around the outskirts of Ingram's pack, but when the dark male did not appear, she continued on her way, heading back toward the bay where she'd been born.

She stopped, however, when a familiar scent reached her nose. It was deceptively familiar; she knew the scent from somewhere, but she couldn't place a face to it. The dark girl spent some time wandering that area, trying to figure out which direction it was coming from.

There. An island in the distance. Quite suddenly, Sif felt a searing urge to be on that craggy, jutting fin.

She was about to step into the water when the approach of another drew her attention. "Hi," she called out, intrigued by the odd shape and coloration of the other creature. Was it a wolf? It smelled like wolves.

her wandering did not go long uninterrupted - when the voice came, she stopped with a jolt, suddenly fearful it would be Engel. this girl far from the red man, however, and her gaze traced a moment her odd markings before echoing her own "hi." even though her shame still weighed heavily upon her, she managed an appeasing tail wag, blinking at the wolf that seemed to be on the brink of stepping into the surf, for reasons she could not understand. curious at any creature that would willingly step into the bad-water, she remarked only, tiredly, "it tastes bad." her head canted, asking the question that her tired lips could not form - why?

Sif's ears pricked at this statement. "Don't drink!" she said, giving a startled little laugh. For as long as she could remember, she had known that the ocean was not for drinking. She wondered who had taught her this, or if she'd been born knowing. Most likely, she'd learned the lesson the hard way.

"For to swim," she said to the small wolf. She tipped her nose toward the island, pointing out its distant, shrouded outline. "Go to land."

She was about to follow through with this, but something made her look back at the little female one last time. The other wolf was small, but there was something more than that making her look frail. "Hurt?" she asked worriedly, turning away from the water and padding toward the other. "I can help?"
