Maybe @Memnoch ?
The wood was neither homey nor discomforting in its existence. Simply by passing beneath the boughs of the great trees, Iwaizumi could tell that there would be no food that would fall from the tops. The hickory nuts of Johsai were long gone.
Hooves clacked against the stones that scattered the earth as he passed lazily through the forest. There was little there save for the scent of wolves, but Iwa was prepared to meet them with the sharp jutting of his tusks if they should approach him without warning. The fiery spirit of the great Kaji had been passed on to him. The fighter boar was eager to test these talents against a worthy opponent – more so for a worthy cause.
Iwa bent his head to the earth and sniffed. The grunts of his breathing were soft before he lifted his crown upward and peered into the wood with dark and beady eyes.

he had narrowly escaped wolf-teeth, but not without a wound. the snake priestess had hurt him, and memnoch had only escaped infection by wandering fecklessly into mud. now he wore it smeared, his snowy coat all but obscured. little food to be found; his last meal had been a handful of days ago, and now the prophet muttered a curse into the choked air.
the glint of piggish eyes did not go unnoticed; memnoch regarded the boar with a contemptuous stare as he wandered limpingly into its presence. not prey, not predator; what was this beast but an equal.
"be ye without belief?" memnoch demanded, hoping this was not yet another violent heathen.

The scent of the fox was easy to pick up, though the boar ignored it for some time before he realized that it had drawn closer to him. It was only then that the wandering pig realized why the scent had been so obscure before. The slender creature passed through the brush and appeared within eyesight. Bits of white protruded from a thick layer of mud, causing the fox to look like a beast of the swamp instead of a clever hunter. Were it not for the words that were spoken, Iwa would have likely openly laughed at such a vision.
‘Be ye without belief?’
A piggish snort was issued in response. The boar looked visibly confused at being asked such a thing. He recoiled his head and narrowed his eyes on the stranger, hoping to know what it was that he meant. “Belief in what?” Iwaizumi inquired gruffly. He knew the magics of Kaji, but only because the fiery spirit dwelled within him. What more was there to put his faith in?

"in anything," memnoch grunted back, settling himself. it did not seem likely he would be attacked, not now. and if he was, great star take him. the miniscule features of the prophet contorted in pain; he glanced down at his lacerated flesh and gave a sharp sigh.
"i don't suppose ye know where't i might find water?" the fox inquired, flame-eyes trailing with open curiosity over the boar's craggy features. "be ye careful; the wolves are coming." by which memnoch could have meant anything, but he soon turned his focus to his wounds, unwilling in this moment to explain himself.
