though they could wander further from the den now, and nüwu had even seen the sea- generally she liked to stick to what she knew. the den had become cramped as they grew quickly, and so huā had dug new burrows for each of them who wished to sleep separately, still surrounding the same old clearing with the original, largest den. that one was big enough for mama and one or two others, but could not fit them all as it once had. nüwu did not know who stayed with mama in that den still- she had taken to using one of the ones made by huā. it was lonely... but peaceful. there her mind could run a thousand miles without waking anyone.
today she awoke and stretched, standing within her mini-den to shake out her pelt. sunlight beamed into the darkness, and she followed it out, yawning at the rising sun and blinking sleep out of jadegreen eyes. nose tested the air as she settled onto her side in a comfortable lay, wondering if any of her siblings were around. some days she felt they did not know her at all.

A cautious boy always, prone to sticking with that which was most familiar to him. Yet, despite this, he found his curiosity growing just as he was physically. Each growth spurt brought with it something new, every milestone an interest in something else. When he could, he wandered—oftentimes by himself, ever searching but for what he did not know. But every time his journey took him right back home, just as it did today.
Xiaoqing entered the main den, ready to nap—until he spied his sister within her little den. His ears perked and he tilted his head, looking at her curiously. Softly, he loosed a soft wuff to catch her attention, wondering what she was up to today.

the woof from her brother caught her attention, and her gaze flickered towards him, at the entrance of the main den. she shot him a playful grin,
小小?你想一起玩儿?she chirped, shifting closer towards him with wagging tail. she bent down into a playbow, hindquarters waving in the air- an invitation. if he didn't want to rough and tumble, maybe she could find a pebble for them to bat around, or a bug to chase... she was just glad to have a companion this morning.

An invitation to play greeted his wuff, which he responded to with a wagging tail. Whilst words lingered on the tip of his tongue—an excessive amount, perhaps—not a single one was to be uttered. Instead, Xiaoqing dropped his frontal half to the ground whilst his hind end swayed from the motion of his eager tail. But then the wagging faltered, slowed and stiffened, the calm before the storm—
—and towards her did the child then pounce, forelimbs stretched out towards her as he sought to make contact. From ear to ear was a smile spread across his maw, soft but excited, anticipating her response.

he dropped into downward dog like yoga, stretching his little front limbs forward while his tail swayed joyfully. now nüwu felt she was along for the ride, as he directed the game, and how they might play it. a moment where she paused, and she was still too inexperienced to know what might come next- and then he leapt, and her eyes widened as she watched him come forward. too slow to dodge, she took his pounce and fell into a tumble, but whether she landed on stomach or back she would be trying to wiggle away, playfully headbutt him back wherever she could, a well-intentioned revenge.

Contact was made and his sister tumbled, which only made his tail wag faster; to him, her not moving was clearly her choosing to engage in some play. And when she headbutted him back, his tail began to shake his entire back half along with it, excitement unable to be contained. Xiaoqing took it all in stride and was soon batting at her with his paws, much like a cat; at the same time, he tried mouthing at her muzzle, nipping and whining and grumbling all the while.

he was wiggling with all the excitement of his wagging tail, and once he batting her with his pale paws she began to giggle. the mouthing at her muzzle was less enjoyable, but that was part of the game, after all! she let out a little growl (playful, of course,) and tried to rear up to switch their positions- shove him onto his back if she could. at this point in time their sizes were still quite similar, and there was no telling whether she would be able to gain the upper hand, but she would damn sure try.

Against him were her actions, the duo equally giving and taking in their play. Laughter sounded from the child’s maw, high in pitch and clearly enjoyable. And when she reared up against him, pushing the sailor’s body, he went with the flow of things—the boy willingly fell back, waiting to see what next they would play.

xiaoqing fell back willingly- but nüwu was determined to believe it was her own strength that had put him below her, and not his kindness in giving her the upper hand. now that she had him on his back, she wasn't sure what came next. nüwu was a player, not a fighter, and truthfully any desire to establish dominance did not exist in her. she laughed, and simply batted a paw against his dark chocolate muzzle that stuck upwards from his features. it was here that nüwu plucked herself off of him, and backed up a couple feet again, falling into a playbow once more- an invitation- did he want to go again, or shall they save any more play for another day?

There came a batting at his muzzle, the fur of her toes tickling his nose and causing a sneeze. But then came back the grinning, ever eager to play. So when she backed off and bowed again, the boy made a quick scramble back up to his feet—tail wagging and butt wiggling, he clumsily tossed himself towards her.

sorry if my attacks are repetitive im so bad at physical threads svzxzcz
and so her brother chose more play. she giggled aloud as he threw himself at her again, choosing to let herself be tackled rather than trying to dodge- playfighting was the most fun when there was contact, she supposed- and she preferred to continue the game as long as it made xiaoqing happy. his aim was a tad clumsy, not that she cared, and she fell onto her back as he collided with her. but she was no ragdoll- and swung her head forward, seeking to sort of headbutt him in the shoulder.

She fell back and he tumbled along, giggling all the while. Wriggling and squirming, he almost didn’t notice her headbutt—but, when he did, he totally misinterpreted it anyways. Rather than returning the gesture, the boy—under the belief that it was an affectionate tap—nudge his nose towards her cheek. Should she allow it, he’d nuzzle his face right against hers, much like a cat might his master’s ankles.
