All Welcome
Rowyn didn't know what was happening anymore. He stuck to himself other than the two girls. He built the borders from scratch. He let water on them. He scraped them and toed them and did everything he could to make sure everyone knew at least someone was living here. Even if the girls scent's got cold for a time. They were always searching, searching.

Rowyn had lost everyone and as such he did not search. Would not search. His one mother had gone missing, his other had left them voluntarily. They were sort of crappy moms. And he was bone tired. He had seen the worst of wolfdom and he had no time for it.

So he walked and he built borders and he let his mind wander.

When Winter’s Wake happened upon the one-wolf border that day, he found himself amused. There was a brave one that lived here, a creature that knew what they wanted, supporters be damned. It was either that or a wolf who was very delusional. He intended to find out which.

Inquisitively traveling the length of the paltry boundary, the winterwolf followed the freshest markings until he saw ahead who was making them.

A boy.

How curious. Ave, socius! Wake called out the young guardian, hanging back in case the wolf was unfriendly, psychotic, or worse... useless.

Masked head lifted and he watched as he was approached by another.  A man arrived bedraggled and rough looking. It was one you didn't want to get on the wrong side of in a dark alley. He knew this. But his ire was up. As this joker just waltzed right nearby. Nary a care in the world. Grizzled and loose.

Rowyn's ears perked forward as he recognized that language and he stared dumbfounded at first. Then he grew suspicious. Did this man know his mothers?

Hola, ¿qué te trae por aquí?

I am pretty sure that was spanish Wake spoke? And Rowyn's mother's spoke spanish and Italian. So I think it's safe to say he knows it

it was actually Latin, but you gave me the idea to just make him multi-lingual instead

This was a boy, and also not.

Wake eyed the youthful face, the tall frame, the lean muscles of a wolf in perpetual motion. The eyes, too, were a telltale sign that this lad had seen more than someone his age should. These clues, accompanied with the existence of this lonely border, led Wake to the conclusion that he should treat this one as an equal, rather than a child.

Ah, hablas la lengua danzante, he smiled, tail wagging. It was a delight to share a language other than the blunt tongue most wolves seemed to use here. Me traes aquí, por supuesto. Olí tu frontera y sentí curiosidad por el lobo que guarda este lugar solo.

He wondered what the stonemask would think of this. Would the young stranger become defensive at these words or take pride in them? Soy Winter’s Wake, he tacked on, hoping to signal his intended good nature.

Ooh sorry when i plugged it into my translator app it came up as Spanish. But latin has bases in almost allt he languages so it makes sense. A  few of my charies are bilingual. Etienne is trilingual. So is Rowyn

Rowyn had not been a child for sometime. He still had the youthful look about him. That rangy too large for body parts look. But he was evening out and his body was starting to show his true size and shape. One that was blocky adn built well.

Rowyn still had nightmares and on such nights. He raced them through the shadows. he would patrol until he could nto think and his body would give out. IF he ever saw that wolf again. he hoped he would not run.

Rowyn nodded his head. Lo hago y mucho más. Then silence. He was not truly adept at teh language. He could speak it well enough, but he was not fluent as his mother. But he could piece together most of what was said based on the base of words.

Rowyn listened but said nothing at first. Just took the words and nodded his head. Yo Soy Rowyn

Rowyn looked around and sighed softly. No puedo ofrecerte mucho más que una comida y un lugar para descansar. Luego te pediré que sigas tu camino.

His words were halting as he pieced them together. It had been so long since he had actualy conversed with another.
Rowyn can speak English fluently, Italian and Spanish conversationally, not fully fluent, but enough to get his point across..

¡Qué bonito! Es agradable conocer a otro de muchas lenguas, the rogue grinned, though it was clear from the slight halting in his voice that the graycloud adolescent was not as well-versed in “the dancing tongue.” Still, it was plenty good enough that Wake enjoyed hearing it.

The stonehawk introduced himself as Rowyn. He seemed to be a far more sullen and reserved wolf than himself, and Wake suspected it had something to do with the fact that he was alone. There wasn’t much to be happy about on one’s own, and there was little celebration to be had in a party of one.

Tu generosidad es muy apreciada, pero no aceptaré nada de ti que no me haya ganado. He preferred to use others to boost his ego, not to wait on him paw and foot.

I just came to sate my curiosity, then I will be on my way, he disclosed, switching unexpectedly to the common language in this valley. Ah, mis disculpas. ¿Hablas la lengua llana?

Hope y'all don't mind me crashing..
Often as she searched, her final missing sibling still did not turn up. Goldfinch was in a sour mood when she returned to the bypass. Certainly no mood to entertain a guest. Her hackles stood and bristled all at once as she caught sight of the man.

Asking questions was not her strong suit. Goldfinch snarled, charging for him without stopping to observe even for a second — but it was no true attack. She only meant to nip meanly at his hocks, give a short chase, or perhaps a long chase if he decided to scram. Otherwise she was content to growl and grumble and snip at him before hurrying to Rowyn's side.
Typically accompanied by a male American goldfinch.

Before Rowyn could say anything else. Or even answer the man. Goldfinch was there and she was snappy and angry. He gave an insufferable sigh. She was always this way when she came back empty pawed after not being able to find her siblings. THere were one or two here, he wasn't sure anymore.

Finch! Dio Mio He was just asking questions.

he shook his head and tilted his ear towards her. And then back to teh man. Sorry this is Goldfinch and yes of course I Do.

Wake turned sharply at the sound of running, snowmelt hackles flared at the sense of an ambush. But he knew a true attack when he saw one, and this assault was mere bluff—for now. The rogue stood his ground, tail arced over his back and muzzle set into a ugly grimace as he turned met her head-on instead of leaving her his back to snap at.

If she wanted to bite, she would have to meet his teeth in kind.

The marble vagrant and the masked wildheart arrived an impasse, glowering at one another as Rowyn attempted to diffuse the situation. Wake lifted his head to resume his unbothered disposition, choosing to accept the apology made by Rowyn on Goldfinch’s behalf. No harm done, he assured them, breathing his own tension out through his nose. I know how to take a hint.

With a wave of his tail, Wake started to back away. We shall have to meet again, saer Rowyn. If you are ever in need of company, or someone to speak the tongues with, you may call for me. I will be making this valley my home. He gave a pointed look towards Goldfinch. Until then.

He moved to make an unhurried and graceful exit, keeping an eye out for movements from the unpredictable goldflame as he went.
