Pack Activity
Time to get moving! @Merel @Foxglove @Biskane @Kogi @Nagamo
After giving a wheel to the tied answers in our MO post, the new territory will be in the Sequoia Coast (for now). I'll set up a thread each week to indicate that the Summerwalkers have moved with the general area they'll be travelling through (I'm not going to be strict on this, have fun!) If you're ever confused don't be afraid to ask questions!

It was time to leave.

Waawaashkeshi felt she could travel once more, and her young pups would be able to handle the time outside of the den. The birds were beggining to flutter from the trees, they flew northwards and the Storyleader was eager to follow.

Howling to her members, she soon tucked into the den to retrieve her children. She would ask Sunchaser to carry her son, A'yan to carry Biskane. Waawaashkeshi would carry Nagamo herself. Once each member of the pack gathered their things, they would leave the copse and let the birds lead them to a new home. Odessia had not returned yet; she wondered if the pale woman would catch up with them.

Waawaashkeshi wondered when it would be best to test Merel. A few days after they had left maybe, to give her a chance to see how Waawaashkeshi led the pack through first. The gilded leader could not help but smile at the idea of getting to share her traditions with another; she had grown up with stories of great Birdwatchers, strong men and women who knew the birds as well as any Storyleader, and she felt sure that Merel would make them proud should she give it her best shot.

She hoped the birds would turn East - it would be good to visit and trade with Moonglow.

The days before their departure had left Merel restless and itchy-pawed. She was simultaneously relieved and anxious when, at last, the Storyleader called on them to move. As she approached, she smiled to Waawaashkeshi and the little pup she carried.

Where to, Storyleader? Merel asked, tail wagging slowly. The birds would guide them, or so she’d been told. She could see the logic in it; following the birds moving north might lead them to rich summer hunting grounds.

The details, however, were still hazy.

it was an exciting day! kogi's tail beats wildly behind him as his mother beckons him outside the den. at first, he is unsure, despite his excitement, but eventually the warm air and sunshine is too appealing. he takes his first few tentative steps outside, blinking in the bright light.
he is not enthused by being carried and actively resists at every turn. he wants only to walk on his own feet, to smell the trillions of new scents that lay on the ground!

Nagamo was marginally less fidgety than her brother. She wiggled around between her mother's shoulders. In time, her fawn fur would lighten to golden-cream, but for the moment she could have blended into her pelt--if only for the large, twitching ears and bright eyes that kept blinking. Unable to verbalize her curiosity about what was happening around her, she settled for a confused whine now and then.

Sunchaser is already nervous when Waawaashkeshi calls them to leave the Copse, but the unexpected responsibility of watching over one of her pups nearly has him turning tail - there's too much that could go wrong!

Pushing nerves aside, he picks up the wiggling babe and simply hopes that Tibishkogijik will settle down soon. He won't be the reason that a predator snatches up one of Waawaashkeshi's children.

She welcomes each member with a smile, tail waving slowly.

North. She responds to Merel, nodding in the mentioned direction. Watch closely, alright? I'll give you your test after you've had time to learn from me. A fair way to do things, particularly for Merel who had not grown with the Summerwalker ways.

Spotting the flock Waawaashkeshi had chosen to follow take off once more, she gestured to her pack that it was time to get moving.
