Moonspear How could you just leave me standing

Kinusi wound herself higher and higher up the spear until her lungs hurt and her eyes were misty. Kindle had been right to a point. But Kini did not appreciate the implication that she didn't know her craft. 

And she also didn't appreciate an old woman who clearly thought she deserved to do what she pleased at her age. This was not okay. Had kini let her get away with it, it would have made a foreground of badness to start. Though this did too.

But more than that, full stop. Haedwig had not know that Europia had fallen. She did not know that Europia could have had a head injury. 

Gawd kini hated self righteous assholes. And clearly these two were ones. But part of her had been right behind.

And now she was tasked to fix this mess but still show them that she was not to be ignored or trampled upon for her age.

She lifted her head and belted out her loudest song yet. Putting her entire soul into it because who could hear her up here. And singing always healed her.

Kira enjoyed roaming the territory when she had the free time. She found herself climbing the spear, slowly. 

That is, until a voice sang out. Her head lifted and her ears tilted back as she searched for where the song was coming from. As it continued, she made her way until she caught Kinusi's scent.

As she got closer and saw Kinusi, she realized that maybe she was intruding and stopped. "Sorry," she said when the song was over. "I heard the song and just couldn't help but see who it was."

Kinusi loved the top of the spear. And her voice here against the acoustics of the cliffs. She liked that. Liked her father's up here even more. The music she shared had more of a way of making her happy than anything else. And she found herself calming down swiftly. 

A noise on the cliffs behind her and she turned. The girl from the pack meeting. Another K name. She had to think, work through them Kira she thought it was, but perhaps she was wrong. 

Toss of head, laughter. Thank you. I do love to sing. I believe we haven't officially met, but I'm Kinusi.

"We haven't officially met," Kira confirmed. "I'm Kira Lazore." Her tail flicked with a hint of excitement. "It's nice to officially meet you. And your singing is beautiful, I hope to hear more of it sometime."

The young wolf looked at her surroundings. "And this territory is a beautiful territory. I'm really glad to have found your pack," she said. "Everyone is so lovely so far."

Kinusi chuckled. Well I am Kinusi Willow actually if you want surnames. Alaric is my dad if you haven't met him yet. Pretty chill guy.

Kinusi tossed her head with delight. Thank you. I do love to sing. I'll let you in on a little secret though. The sound bouncing off these rocks? Makes it sound even better. All you gotta do is ask. Me I love to sing.

Kini hummed in point then. Becasue she did love to sing. Sometimes she even talked in her sleep and sang. There was not a quietness to her. 

It is beautiful here. Her throat grew a little dry at the next observation. Would Kira had thought that moments ago when Kini had lost her cool. Probably not, but she determined, she no longer cared tot hink about that and instead smiled. 

I like to give Katmai most of the credit for that. He found most of the wolves here. I just sort of went along. I knew treepie and my dad o-course and Tiki. But the rest of you. Katmai or kindle found.

Kira nodded. "I have met Alaric," she said. "He was nice. I didn't know he was your dad."

She looked around at the rocks. "Well, your voice is absolutely lovely. I'm sure the sound bouncing helps, but I bet it's mostly you."

The young wolf shook her head a bit. "Don't understate your contribution," she said. "That's quite a few people for how small we are."

She flicked her ears and part of her tail and laughed. His signature brown didn't show the truth of the matter. She teased gently and laughed. Her laugh melodious. I'm teasing. Not many do, it's okay. Now you know.

Dad says i've been singing since I was able to. So I suppose part of it maybe me. She lifted her head and let a small note ring out. Bouncing off teh rocks. But they do make it louder.

A nod. it is. And i'm glad for it. I just don't want to take credit. I'd rather give it where it is due.

Kira chuckled at Kinusi's joke about not being able to tell. "I think I've just been meeting so many new people that I could have known and not connected it," she admitted. 

When they talked about the song, Kira nodded a bit. "I'm sure it's a lot more you than you'd like to take credit for," she said. "The rocks make your voice louder, I'm pretty sure it can't make it better." It was meant lighthearted, as a joke. "I'd love to sing with you sometime."

Kini was pretty sure that any babe her father had, it would have that brown. Even Auntie Amalia's kids had some of that brown. It was like a family thing at this point. 

Kini smiled softly. Perhaps, but I'd rather give credit to others.

Blue eyes looked around. I'd like that. What kind of songs do you like to sing? I like ones that uplift and make you joyful. But sometimes a good ole sad ballad is needed.

Kira smiled when Kinusi said she’d like to sing together. “I like a good sad ballad,” she said. “But I agree with preferring uplifting music.”

For a moment, she considered belting out a song then and there, but decided against it. “Ive picked up a few songs here and there, but I mostly prefer songs from my childhood, I guess.”

Kini chuckled. Believe me sister so do i. Sometimes you just need that soul wrenching, heart tearing sound to make you feel better when you're feeling sad. There is just something about music that fixes all ails.

Kin wouldn't have minded if the she wolf had belted out a song. Chances are she'd have answered in kind. It was nice to be near another music lover. 

There's something nostalgic about the ones from childhood innit there.

Kira nodded. “It does seem to fix all ails, doesn’t it?” She asked. Her desire to be a medic and her pride in her voice made her laugh internally at that thought. 

“Yes, the ones from the childhood always have this extra layer of comfort to them that other songs don’t have. 

She started singing then, a song from her childhood. It was slow, but had a happy message. 

I can’t think of a good song for her to sing. You can probably assume it’s pretty common.
