I put a feather as header because .... @Keyx

Scarlett walked through the valley that she was calling her home now. The female was started to shed heavily. She was worried that her owl friend Keyx couldn't find her anymore since she relocated a bit. Would howling to an owl work? He wouldn't understand the difference between howls. Or could he? Scarlett should ask the owl that after she found him. Her fur was starting to itch and she really wanted to get rid of it. The pale female looked up at the skies and searched the trees. Then she tried it, just for her own sake of finding one owl in these big lands. Scarlett threw her maw up in the air and then howled, calling out for her fellow navigator. Navigator was the same as naturalist in wolf language.

Scarlett looked around, scanning the edges of the valley. Her howl did echo through the valley splendidly because of the high and steep walls. The red eyed female moved her teeth over her butt were a pluck of hair was itching her. She spit the pluck of fur from her mouth. Well at least Keyx would have more than enough to built several nests. Scarlett was pleased that she could help her friend. Her pigments fur would at least have a purpose for someone else. Scarlett howled once more just in case. Maybe she should look for the owl outside the valley. Maybe she should travel to Otatso Wetlands to look for the owl. But what if her friend was on her way? She promptly sat down, next to the river so she was visible for the winged creature.

It'll be a hoot!

Being an owl, Keyx could not understand a wolf's howl. He knew it was a way to track their location, but could never understand the meanings that they held behind them. What he could do, though, was use his finely tuned ears to pick up on the base voice of the howl. He quickly discovered it was his friend, the albino wolf who had agreed to let him have her winter coat when she started to shed. He wondered if it was now time to do that. Lucky for the both of them, the young barn owl had finally settled down in a place, but found that he also made himself at home in other tree hollows throughout the Wilds. It was a good thing, too, as he never knew where he would be when it was time for him to settle and sleep. It was best to be prepared, as he'd always been taught.

Keyx had been resting inside his hollow in the wetlands when he'd picked up on Scarlett's voice, but had left immediately after. Thanks to his facial ruff, that all barn owls had, he was able to pinpoint where the howl had sounded from with his hearing alone. It made finding her much easier, as did the second howl that sliced through the air. The echo had tried to throw him off, but being the top notch (as he called himself) Navigator that he was, it's attempts were unsuccessful. The boy's dark wings carried him towards his friend quickly and silently, and a smile lit up his eyes when he flew over head and saw her. He turned after that and came in for a landing, touching the ground in front of the pale woman. He turned right around to look at her, excitement clear as the day all over his face. “Hello, Scarlett!” Keyx greeted, beyond happy to see his friend again. “It feels as if it's been ages! Have you called me to preen you?” The owl tried to pull off the best grin he could at that, a bit energized than when they'd last met.

Scarlett didn't had to wait long before there was a figure on the horizon. Her tail started wagging at the sight of the owl. Her white coat was still winter thickness and she wanted to get rid of it. The female laid down when Keyx landed. "Hi Keyx!!," She greeted. Scarlett was so pleased to see him. Her coat would be finally gone. "You can make a lot of artworks and nests with this, trust me," Scarlett spoke. She would probably stay laying down like this so Keyx had more easier access. Once he would reach her belly that would be another story. Her tail wagged. "Please, feel free to start when you are ready. I want my summer coat."

Scarlett rested her head on her paws, being actually really comfortable in the warmth that came with spring. Her white coat seemed extra shiny in the sun. The albino slowly closed her eyes, it was a pretty nice feeling to be groomed like this. Soon the heaviness will be gone. "It has been awhile, hasn't it? I have my own pack now, Keyx. I'm the alpha. I mean.. leader.. president?," She tried to speak in his language.

Seeing his friend was a wonderful thing, as he had missed the bright face of the wolf. She was, technically speaking, the exact opposite of them. She was an albino wolf, and he was a melanistic owl. While her genes caused her to be very pale, his made him rather dark. He wondered if those like her had ever been at risk of being chucked as he had been. Any owl born with the same coloration as himself were often chucked from the nest because of their dark colors, but he didn't know how it worked for albinos. Scarlett was the first one he'd ever met. “I do not know where I will put it all!” he exclaimed, pure joy weaving into his voice. Keyx would definitely find a use for all the fur, but the sheer amount of what it looked to be was surely nothing to laugh at. His head bobbed for several nods before he moved closer to her and stepped up onto her back, careful to keep his grip from digging into her. With his beak, the young owl started going over and through his friend's fur, preening it as he often did his feathers. Often he wold stop in order to drop a clump of fur to the side of the woman's body, but then he'd be right back to removing the loose fur within seconds.

Another clump of fur needed to be dropped from his beak, but this time he did not go right back to his task. Instead, he smiled at his companion and churred lightly at her not knowing what to call the parliament leader. “We call our leaders the king and the queen,” he told her happily. The owls lived in groups called parliaments, however their leaders were called the king and the queen. The owl monarchy is an odd thing. “I am very happy for you!” His tone held a heavy dose of excitement to it, as he was truly filled to the brim with happiness for his friend. Becoming a leader, whether you're a wolf or an owl, is a pretty big deal. “Are you liking the leading lifestyle?” Keyx asked, curious.

Scarlett was so pleased to have all her heavy fur be removed with the skill the owl had. She felt his weight on her back but she couldn't even care less. She allowed the owl on her back since their first meeting. She was glad he would do such a thing for her. It made her life so much easier. She rested her head on her paws and even closed her eyes. She loved the feeling of Keyx's beak removing the plucks of fur. She could feel the wind better at the places he had been plucking her fur. Also how his paws and beak moved over her skin almost felt like some massage. She really liked it. The female has almost dozed off if not for the owl talking to her.

"Ah alright. I'm a white queen then. Ouh I like that," Scarlett chuckled, not lifting her head from her paws. The alpha female chuckled at the thought of being referred as the white queen that sounded so official. Although it did brought some status. The white queen with the red eyes like blood. That sounded scary. "I am liking it so far. Actually, I am loving it. The status is something I can live with. The members of our pack also seem pleased with out leadership." Scarlett loved how happy the owl sounded. It was really something that was genuine. Keyx would still be welcome. He was one of her friends now.
