@Tevinter

It was late morning, and Dash had been up with the sun. He had been stalking the trail of a herd of deer, but they had been too far ahead, and moving at a steady pace, for him to catch up with them. So, he had headed back home, his intent to rest for a little while in the heart of the territory.

He made his way up the side of the mountain, his mind wandering as his paws lead him along the familiar path. He hadn't really made any strong relationships to anyone here, aside from Thistle and Charon. He had met others, but hadn't really spent much time with anyone. He began to wonder if this was just how he was. He was dedicated to the pack, of course, and he had no desire to be anywhere else, but there was just something that comforted him about being by himself. But, he wasn't sure how his leaders would feel about him not at least trying to get to know his other pack mates better.

So, he would make the effort. He made his way to a popular spot among the pack, thinking he stood a better chance of running into someone. He paused at the edge of the small clearing, looking for any signs someone might be here.

this post is kind of ....all over the place. xD

Tev did not typically make a habit of venturing out into the light of the day, though the dreary and omnipresent gray clouds that hung like a dense, darkened blanket in the sky made it easier for Tev to see. The time had gotten away from him, and though he, after pulling a night shift, was tired and ready to head back to his den and fall into a deep slumber that would, no doubt, bring with it vivid dreams his task at hand wasn't yet finished. He finished burying a rabbit he'd caught in a cache nearest to where he'd taken it down. It had been a scrawny thing, but not malnourished. Perhaps, like him, it had been an adolescent, almost but not yet to it's adulthood. The age of his prey was something he took into account for — at least when it came to big prey, anyway. The young, the sick, and the elderly were always the best to go after for obvious reasons. They stood less of a chance of slipping out of a patient wolf's grasp though it had happened before. Giving up on prey was not something that Tev would ever take, nor a decision that he would make, lightly; but there was a limit to how far he would chase it especially if the situation didn't look good for him.

A good hunter knew when he was defeated, just as a good warrior did; but then again Tev fancied himself a Berserker like his father, though Tev understood that Berserkers fought until their death, but without fear of it — a condition no doubt nurtured by their culture and further fueled by the mushrooms they were known to consume.

Still, there was no guilt for taking the life of the rabbit. It was apart of survival of the fittest. It was the natural order of life and death, and it's death would give one of the Moonspear wolves food and thus, life. Nothing had ever seemed to feel guilty about nearly taking his life and so he would not feel guilty about any lives he might take. With the cache as it had been when he'd found it, marked but covered he turned from it, continuing on though this time his destination was his den, only to find himself shrugging into a clearing and give pause when the silhouette of a dark figure was easily depicted from the gray in which it would have so easily melded too if he were of a lighter shade. The young Viking opted for silence, trying to discern if this pack-mate was one that he knew yet or not, though the scent was familiar he was not sure that he had a name to place to it.

No problem! I won't reference the pack hunt too much since I have no idea how Tev is going to react, or even if Dash will hold to the fit he's having XD

A movement to his right caught his eye and his head turned towards the wolf who had just showed up. It was the one who had led the previous pack hunt. Dash hadn't agreed with the hunter's thinking, but it was a good thing Dash wasn't into holding grudges when things didn't go his way. For the dark wolf, it just didn't affect him enough to continue worrying about it.

So, he turned towards the other male, but respected his space and didn't go any closer. Hello, he said simply. Really, he had no idea what else to say since he didn't have a whole lot of experience with small talk. He usually only spoke when he had something to say, instead of trying to find things to say. He had no idea of the other male's eye condition, or that he was Thistle's son.

That's fine! Sorry about the wait on this. >___>

“Hello,” Tevinter returned simply, remembering the pack hunt for a moment before the Ragnarsson brushed it off. Just as his dark companion chose not to hold grudges, Tev considered that holding grudges against someone indirectly challenging him wasn't wise. At least because he had no real rank, no while he lingered in the youth ranks. There were circumstance to put others in their place lest they forgot where they stood in the hierarchy but Tev had no rank and accordingly no place to do such a thing. For now, he was bound by that chain of thought though if he would continue to think that way or not was unknown. His own father had never conformed to the rules of hierarchy, believing and holding himself to the rank of Jarl even after he'd officially stepped down; and Tev already had issues with remembering his place (not a great habit to start at such a young age, admittedly).

“I'm Tevinter Ragnarsson,” Loðbrok had been a name Ragnar had earned for himself and Tev didn't feel right to claim it as his sire name when he'd done nothing to earn it himself. For now, he was Ragnarsson because that was the traditional way of how the Norse did “sire names”. “but everyone calls me Tev.” Well everyone but Charon. As far as Tev knew his older brother was still stubbornly calling him Jorunn.

Ugh, Dash is so awkward and sometimes hard to write >_<'

Tev was his name. I'm Dash, he replied simply. His eyes glanced this way and that, trying to figure out something more to say that wasn't totally stupid. Not that he generally cared what others thought, but he was trying not to be a total social outcast.

Where did you come from- before you joined? he asked, knowing Tev hadn't been here when the pack was founded. He sat back on his haunches, a sign he had nowhere to go at this particular moment. Tev may have been lower ranking, but Dash wasn't usually one to push his own dominance, whether he was technically above them or not.
