@Taggarik maybe? Anyone who wants to intercept him; feel free to rough him up a bit.

The snow had stopped, finally. He didn't know for how long. Only that the temperature was more mild, and his breath was fainter on the air. The white of the terrain had confused the lowly wanderer - not that he hadn't seen snow before mind you, but Alepue was accustomed to hot days and cold nights, not cold all the time. His pelt was prolific but thin all the same, meant for keeping cool. Climbing a mountain was a foolish thing for the rogue to do. He was an idiot for thinking that there would be shelter somewhere along the passages. He made note of a few strange findings though: there were natural paths in the snow, as if something had passed through only recently; a yellowing to the snow in some spots; and from time to time, Alepue would find long hairs encased by ice upon the trunks of trees. The scents had worn away with the weather, but he knew there were other wolves here somewhere. It was only a matter of finding them. Surely they would not turn away the virile young man? He was an able body, and winter was the most dangerous time of them all - even for a pack.

Just so you know, the scent of the pack's borders would not be washed away by the weather, as that's not how scent works in the first place and the pack is constantly refreshing their markers anyway :)

He was back on the borders once more; a westerly wind having captured his attention with yet another foreign scent as it drifted it's way through the lower reaches of the ridge. The black wolf had been stalking a hare, but abandoned the pursuit in favor of intercepting the lone wolf on his door step. He moved swiftly and easily through trails in the snow the pack had worn, and soon spotted a smaller, brown male lingering near a tree on the fringes of his domain.

He adopted a posture suited to his position then, for once he was the first wolf to arrive. His head and tail, which swayed gently, were carried high and he strode purposefully and boldly toward the loner, woofing to grab his attention and stopping only a single step away from him.

I didn't mean that they were washed and gone, I meant like... The smell of 'cold' was screwing him up. Sorry I'll try to be more clear.

There was a pack here, of that the boy was sure. He didn't know what to do next, and thus only lingered on the fringe of the territory; he loitered by one of the markers, wondering if someone would notice him. It didn't take long for something to happen. In one moment Alepue was slouching among the snow at the base of the tree, and in the next there was a dark figure moving to intercept him. He stood up quickly. His ears fell back as soon as he saw the other wolf - it was bigger than him, far more intimidating even without the raised tail. The boy's spine curved, his head wanting to lower along with his tail, and he pressed himself back against the tree. Suddenly Alepue was unsure of his discovery.

No worries!

The black wolf appraised the loner, his gray eyes combing over the small, taut body. There was something a bit different about his look and his scent, but he could not place a paw on it, and it was not alarmed by it anyway. "Looking for something?" He asked with an arch brow, retaining his dominant posture, as the loner had yet to fully submit to him.
