Larksong Grotto Try and make a dollar

Brilliant blur eyes peered at the odd insect. Bright yellow, and black, it buzzed loudly around a purple wildflower, the likes of which the boy had never seen before. He remembered then another, simular insect he had found before and had quite a bit of fun with. It had tasted rather odd, however. So the boy bat at the buzzing thing, ignoring the angry buzzing.
He bat at it again.

Pain blossomed through his shoulder, he yowled and let out a startled exclamation of pain. The bee, having performed it's final duty on this earth, flew away drunkenly, leaving the boy in dismay as he started at the round, throbbing thing on his shoulder, whimpering.

Nova was enjoying the feeling of Raas warming her back, alight in the golden color of both her pelt and what she imagined the God would manifest himself as. Her spectral eyes were nearly shut from relaxation as she loped slowly around her new home. It was nice here no willow trees, but it would do despite the harsh and tedious entrance. As time went by, Nova knew that when her body began to shut down it would be harder and harder to drag herself out and in. 
They'd come to it when it came, but her thoughts were inturrupted by a high pitched and clearly PUPPY howl of pain. 
The famine had been harsh on the elder, there was no doubt about that, but there was no better push than that of a motherly woman hellbent on protecting every child on earth. Her legs carried her at a canter until the scent became stronger, and she slowed back to a brisk walk as to not spook the puppy. 
Coming around a bush, she saw him, and lowered her head to his level. She hesitated at a distance for a moment before inching forward with a smile plastered across her black tinged face.
                   "Hello there little one. Are you alright? Do you need help?"
Her ghostly eyes flicked to his shoulder, where his attentions were pointed, but could see nothing from this distance. She hoped that, at his age, he would be able to at least understand her words and be able to tell her what was wrong, or show her. She also hoped the pup would accept her help and her touch, not freak out. She didn't know this ones mother, and a stranger approaching a baby was very dangerous. Nova Rose would know, she'd been one of those women to ward EVERYTHING from her babies.

Maybe Raas would help him! Reek had said that the sun would watch over him and protect him. But Seff didn't know what the sun would do about a bite from a mean bug, so he put the thought away. But then came the next best thing; a packmate! He limped toward her, making it seem like the bite was much worse than it was (being a dramatic little pup, after all). But halfway there, he discovered limping was far too slow, and walked toward her normally, expression set in a sad frown. Tears welled in his eyes, as he gestured toward his shoulder.

"Big mean bug attack me. Bite! Look!" He twisted so that the lump on his shoulder was in her face. "Look!"

The little boy came right up to her, not in the least wary of a stranger, but at least she wasn't one who would do a pup harm. If anything, she was a mother to everyone who allowed her to. Nova was still upset she'd never gotten to play and talk with Tamborine, but by the way Hiram bad been talking perhaps one day she would. 
The medly of brown fur limped, at first, but as the elder waited for him to come, he eventually picked up pace and lost the limp completely. The golden queen held back a laugh, and layed down completely to look close at his shoulder. Her spectral eyes saw nothing, but upon a few licks of her tongue, she felt the stinger pop out and likley relieved the boy of some pressure. After spitting it out to her side, she gave the swollen area another few licks.
                          "There... Is that better?"
She could always find tansy or mallow for the boy, but she doubted that he really needed any herbs.

She licked his shoulder, squirming, until he felt a release. It still hurt but she had made it better. Instantly, Seff decided that he quite liked this friendly woman. He smiled his adorable puppy smile, blue eyes huge, and said "Better". Then, he reached up, placing his front paws on her flank and licking her sheek, his puppy version of a hug and a kiss to say thanks. That was something he had been taught. Say "thank you" and "your welcome". "Thank 'uo" he said happily, worm of a tail wagging at high speed.

As usual, Nova was right: all he needed was the stinger removed, no herbs needed. The boy drew close, stepping up on her shoulder and kissing at her cheek with the cutest thank you she'd ever heard. A grin spread across the elder's face, and she licked his ears in return. 
                   "You are very welcome, little boy. What's your name?"
She didn't mind him being close: the touch of puppies was something she sorely missed. Rough as they could be sometimes, there was nothing to compare their soft little pads and their cute, tiny noses. All day she could spend just lying here playing with Seff, or any pup really. 
                                   "I'm Nova. Nova Rose."

"I'm Seff!" he shrieked, surprised that the lady didn't know that. Everyone knew who he was! He pranced back, cutting their potential meeting short. "Gotta go show booboo to mama!" he cried, excited, and spun, trotting back the way he had came and back, to Vuk.
