All Welcome
@Sophy or @Potema (since I can't tag Bozena, I'm just tagging this account XD) Short post to get this going

The mute had heard a lot of things the past few weeks and was excited for everything. He barely knew what was going on and yet was happy all the same. He had friends, a home, food in his tummy and finally the cold had gone away. The Wise Ones surely had things looking up for him and he was forever grateful.

He went to the rock he had found a little girl on not so long ago and lied down without a pardon. The sun warmed it so nicely that it was nearly irresistible. He wondered if his relaxation hours would go undisturbed.

Sophy had decided it was high time to go about, this time to actually meet someone else. She had been nervous long enough, and if she were to live here, she had to get over that fear of hers. So, she did just that and went looking for someone, anyone else part of the pack to speak with. And she put a spring in her step to at least create the image in her mind that she was happy, not nervous at all.

That's when she found a white wolf, lying there. She did not see they were resting from the angle she was coming from, and suddenly wasn't sure how to greet them. She ended up murmuring something under her breath, averting her eyes for a moment.

Calloon would've felt extremely sorry for a scared person wanting to talk with him. He could not comfort with words - could not even tell why he was so silent. Many had accepted him like this though and he was grateful for Easthollow's kindness. For them he lived now; he filled their caches and attended anything he could while at the same time remaining the wandering ghost he was. The wise ones - oh, the wise ones. How could he ever thank them for all of this?

The grey boy was quick to scent the other, crawling to the edge of the resting rock to find a small version of his other friend; Phiipa. His white brows raised in surprise and he tilted his head in question. He chuffed a slight greeting, noting she did not look at him. How curious.

Sophy caught movement out of the corner of her eye and saw the wolf was indeed awake, and had come to the very edge of their resting rock. Eyes on her, and his head tilted in a questioning manner. "Uh..hi...I'm Sophy" she said quietly, putting a smile on. "W-What's your name?" She looked about for a moment. "Are you ou-out here alone?"

He would never think of making an already nervous lady more nervous, yet he feared he had done just that when he had looked over the edge. He frowned and whined to indicate he was sorry, having no tongue to say what he meant. He smiled as she introduced herself, nodding as some kind of way to say "Nice to meet you". At her first question, he motioned to her chest - as he did with everyone when they asked for a name. Anyone could call him whatever they wanted; he was no one yet everyone and he liked to keep it that way. He nodded at her second question though; he was indeed alone here... well, not anymore, but she got that, right?

Sophy took the whine as it was, and quickly shook her head. "Th-There's no reason to be sorry, I'm just-" She cut off, thinking for a moment why he did not speak. Then, she just let it go, thinking it a preference of his. Although the motion he made to her chest. She did not understand it one bit. "I...don't understand?" He nodded to her next question, and that she understood. "You don't mind the company, do you?"

Being quiet like ice was not nearly his preference. He wanted to shout and talk hours on end without giving his voice a break. Losing his tongue had been a preference at the time since it was this or death, but he'd much rather share his thoughts without raising more questions than answers. It was sad, a curse some would say, but he did know it hardly held him back. His ears lowered disappointedly, unsure whether to show her his stump of a tongue before ultimately deciding she deserved to know. He leaned closer, golden-ringed eyes enticingly staring out of his sunken, ghost-like face and then opened his mouth to reveal the thing that prevented him from conversing with her. He did not respond to her question, finding it very obvious that he wasn't troubled or annoyed with her presence.

Sophy awaited an answer from the male, and she did receive one. Just not to a question she had asked. She had been thinking why he did not speak, and moved back slightly when his face came closer. Then, he opened his mouth and she gasped. Her stomach turned over, she felt sick at seeing the little wriggling thing that was once a tongue.

"That's...dreadful." It scared her to see it, she even gagged between words. She hadn't meant to seem so sick to her stomach from that. "How did it-" She cut herself off, now thinking it silly. How could he answer if he could not even speak.

All went as predicted; knowing the source of his silence often resulted in silencing oneself while he stayed his expressive self. No dread or self-pity could be found in his golden-ringed eyes nor in his unwavering smile of secrets. His soft ash mane held a thousand words; he, as a whole, did so. There was no use in grieving what he had lost; all he had to do was appreciate what he had now.

When he closed his maw at her words, he smiled at her sweetly; shaking his head. It wasn't dreadful, not for him. He was a strong believer in that actions spoke louder than words. Now that she knew, would she understand that he desired that she gave him a name to call? Just to be sure, he nudged the air towards her chest again.

Once more, he gestured after shaking his head. "I don't..." She thought for a moment. At first, she thought he was asking for her name, gesturing toward her for one. And she had already given it. That's when she finally pieced it together. "You want a name." She stood in silence for a moment, thinking of something. "How about...Quiet?" She was never good with names. And he was indeed quiet.

The Delta looked kind of sad when it seemed Sophy still did not get what he meant, but he blamed himself more than he did her. It was hard to communicate with a mute, but it was also hard for a mute to communicate. But, at last, the little light bulb in the girl's head popped on and she stated just what he was looking for. A name, a name! Give me the greatest gift of all and make me your anything! His grin was wide and full of happiness - even if the name she gave him was a rather... lazily picked one. Still, he was quiet, and The Witch called him something like that too in her own language. He nodded happily, chipping some sounds that he could muster before falling Quiet again.

Quiet nodded happily to the new name given. No doubt he had many names behind his face. "I'm glad you like it!" she replied with a little laugh, having felt a little nervous wouldn't. Her tail wagged behind her, and she was happy she made a new friend. "So, Quiet? What's, uh....how's life?" She mentally cringed at her own question, not a great question to ask on a first meeting.

It melted his heart how everyone treated him so well - silently finding himself a very spoiled man. Not only did he have a pack behind him, but a pack full of lively women that mentally cradled him because he was "such a sad being". Calloon was an intelligent man however and would not take all this for granted; seeing that he had suffered so in the past, it was only natural that The Wise Ones would pay him back like this, but that payment would not stay a lifetime.

At her question, he raised his shoulders, nodding his head to the side with a "meh" expression and the hint of a smile.

Sophy put on a nervous smile at the answer she received from the silent wolf. "Same for me...So, you know my sisters? Phiipa and Vinnira?" Her tail fell a bit, now finding it rather awkward that he could not speak back toward her. She couldn't blame him, of course. Even though she didn't know how he lost his tongue.

Calloon smiled at the mention of Phiipa, nodding his head energetically with a huge grin upon his ghost-like face of light, colourless hues. While the second name didn't ring any bells, he could only assume "Vinnira" was part of Easthollow, too. It was strange that Phiipa hadn't mentioned Sophy - then again, their interaction had been short and sweet; without many words.

Sophy's face lightened up when Quiet, as she had named him, nodded energetically to the female. "You do?!" She smiled with a very wide smile. "We, uh...we'd lost her some time ago. She had left...But we found her not long ago, so there's that!" It had been going well, very well for all the sisters. She was glad to have them there for her, to look up to.

"Do you have family here?" she asked, tilting her head slightly to the side. She didn't mean to intrude if family was at all a touchy issue. "Do you...do you have family at all?"

He could not help but smile at the short version of the sisters' tale, enchanted by the familial bond they seemed to share and hold dear. While he had never hated his siblings, he couldn't say that he even remembered how they were like after such a long time alone or with other wolves. They probably just hadn't left a huge impression on the ghostly boy.

When the next question came, his smile wavered and he casted his golden-ringed eyes down, shaking his head in a sad manor. While he believed the Easthollow members were his family, it was not likely that that was what she had meant.

Quiet gave her a smile at the story she gave to him from the meeting of her and her sisters. She smiled back, then quickly lifted a leg to scratch at her side when it suddenly got itchy.

Once she finished scratching, her smile disappeared when she noticed his reaction to ther other question. "You...don't have family here?" She paused for a moment. He looked sad. "Are they..." She gulped, fearing to say it. "Are they dead?"

While Calloon wasn't sure, he assumed that his whole family was still alive and fighting the war he had fled some time ago. Of course, given that his youngest sister had been killed to hurt him he it was also possible that more had died. Still, the ghostly boy was a positive spirit; his family was out there, somewhere... They just had to be.

And so, when she asked, his eyes grew wide just before he shut them, shaking his head panicky. She had the wrong idea and he desperately wanted a new topic to converse about.

Sophy backed her head up at his reaction, thinking she had tread on some nerve or somewhere he would not want anyone to tread on. She then pieced together that it was in fact because she was wrong. "Oh, so they are all right...that's good, then..." She gazed back at him. "They aren't....." She stopped herself, glancing away. But she had to know. So while still looking away, she continued her question, "They didn't do that to you, did they?"

Perhaps he had answered a little too roughly, but he simply didn't want any other thought of dead family members in his head. He couldn't imagine being killed... or, well, he could imagine it but he'd rather not. Torture was worse, probably, but he had survived that. Maybe it had messed him up more than he realised... He had zoned out for a moment, but when he came back he was just in time to hear her strange question. His family? Rip out his tongue? That would've been quite the story to tell! err... well, not really. He shook his head a lot calmer then; sophisticated and quite regal, closing his eyes in confirmation that he was not lying.

Sophy nodded slowly to the reaction she got from Quiet.  "So it wasn't...that's good...Family should never hurt each other." She had her eyes drift off toward the ground next to her, unsure of what else they could speak of. The origins behind what happened to his tongue she assumed he did not no longer speak of, and she couldn't think of anything else to say about family.

He nodded, silently agreeing with her statement. Family was there to support each other... then why did he feel like he only existed because they had needed more soldiers to fight the war they hadn't started? Easthollow was different from that; they cared deeply about each other and never had he felt left out or looked down upon. It was enough to earn his complete loyalty, even though he had a sickening urge to wander every now and then. He wiggled his nose questioningly, ears perking around to see if she would ask him something else; something worth talking about. If not, he did not blame her; he was not the easiest wolf to "converse" with.

She smiled lightly, however when the silent wolf gave a questioning wiggle of his nose her smile went away as she thought about what exactly could be another topic of discussion. "So...how did you come to-" She stopped herself. That question she doubted would be easy to answer. She tried to think of something to make the suddenly awkward silence be gone. "Uh...how old are you?" She mentally kicked herself for that one.

He giggled lightly as she tried to come up with a question he could answer but not in a mocking way. Calloon knew better than to mock those who were just trying. When a question did come around, he paused as he thought of a way to tell her. So, he jumped off his rock to a clean piece of ground that he could easily scratch something in. With a delicate, small paw did he scratch one line in the soft sand with next to it a line that was around half the size of the first one. Surely the other could count, yes?
