OOC: Introducing Athena. :)

The petite wolf pranced along the creek, feeling the soft grass between her toes. The air smelled sweet. She finally came upon a large fir tree and plopped down in it's comfortable shade. She closed her eyes and breathed a sigh of relief. Drifting off to sleep, she thought of her mother and could almost feel her mother's nuzzle against her cheek.

She felt at home and wondered what was in store for her...

Majesty wandered this new territory, wondering who he would meet next. It was hot today, and he was glad he had stopped at the lake to get a drink. He was wondering if he wanted to go back to the Great Bear Wilderness, where at least there were many trees to keep him in the shade, when he caught the scent of a nearby female wolf. She was a pack wolf. He could tell from the many different scents underlying hers.

He figured he was in no danger of being attacked, as he wasn't in pack territory, so allowed his natural curiosity to lead him over to the petite she-wolf lying beneath the tree. She was also beside a creek, and this made him happy, as the spray of the water made the temperature go down quite a bit. He approached her slowly, clearing his throat so that she would know he was coming and not be frightened. "Hello," he called to her, his deep lilting voice ringing out. "I am a friend. I did not expect to see another wolf out here, though I suppose I should know better." He chuckled. "How are you this hot afternoon?"

Wolves were flooding into Swiftcurrent Creek, and for an entire spectrum of reasons. Bazi still hadn't come to terms with the recent invasion of Tortuga wolves, which had left her blooded and the Creek bereft of a beloved sister. The topic had yet to be mentioned by anyone close to her, let alone properly discussed, and the Creek wolf dealt with this silence by throwing herself into work. That meant scouting, and keeping a rapidly growing pack fed.

Unlike other recent recruits, Athena's entry had been rather low key. Bazi didn't know of her existence until she heard it from Fox, and assumed the newcomer must have arrived when she herself was sleeping off the battle for Bones.

It was Athena who slept now - but not alone. The familiar - and now enraging - scent of mountain was upon the second, larger stranger, who looked to be making casual conversation on the cusp of Creek territory. Does Jinx not brief her followers any more? Bazi thought - the Silvertip alpha was renowned for chasing off anyone that so much as breathed in the lands around her mountain; and here was one of hers, creeping perilously close to Bazi's home.

Bristling, tense, and agitated, the bright-white female called for @Fox, @Njal, and @Jace, howling low as she approached the newcomer and her unwelcome friend.

Jace heard the call of Bazi and his Hackles rose. What was going on of late? There was so much violence and turmoil he was afraid for his soul. However, if he was anything he was a loyal and duty bound wolf and he followed orders to the best of his abilities. He stretched from beside the small river let he had been laying at to cool his paws.

His long loping gait brought him to be beside Bazi and he chuffed gently at her. What's going on Bazi? His hackles began to raise. If he had his way this time and there had to be a death he would not let Bazi do it. He should have killed the other male as well when the attack had ended. So Bazi did not have to have that blemish or her sweet soul.

The call came from the borderlands and, while Njal was busy pacing along the opposite end of the territory, his hackles rose with defiance against the impromptu interruption of his duties. Bazi knew not to call unless the need was great - and so it was with this in mind that Njal charged onward, heading for the origin of the summons; his paws bracing his great bulk as he moved, making no effort to hide himself as he came upon the gathering.

There was a nimble wolf creeping along the river's edge, and Njal felt a wave of possessiveness rise within him. He came upon Bazi's location just as Jace did - and the two of them, now flanking their superior, formed a wall of fur and muscle. Jace was the first to ask a question - a rather obvious thing that didn't need asking, Njal pondered briefly - but the silver man caught sight of yet another wolf. A burly sort of creature with dark fur and a mouth full of words; but more importantly, the scent of Jinx.

A low rumble rose in Njal's chest at this realization, and he moved in to a defensive angle around the white girl, placing himself nearer to the burly stranger. He recognized the entity a moment later as the same strongman that had ventured too close to the lake on a previous day - and this only made Njal all the more agitated. He would wait for word from his superior before doing anything, but the man was itching to send the stranger packing.

Athena opened her eyes at the sound of a voice and sprang up from her rest. She stood tall and suspiciously eyed the strange wolf before her. She had always been shy of strangers. She kept her shoulders square and tried to mask any fear that she may have felt. Glancing around quickly, she noticed the white female approaching. She knew she was another Creek wolf and felt less tense and more in control now. Athena then noticed two other Creek wolves. She side stepped slowly attempting to approach the three other Creek wolves...

Majesty took a deep breath, releasing it as a sigh. He realized then that he was probably much closer to pack territory than he had originally thought. He watched as the female who had once been sleeping under the tree jump up and scoot hurriedly over to her pack-mates. He made no attempt to stop her, and only turned to face them all once she was well past him, so that none of them would think he was going to harm her.

Once he turned, despite the angry, snarling faces he saw before him, he put on his best smile, let his posture remain slightly relaxed, and said, "Hello. My name is Majesty. I want you all to know right now that I have absolutely no intention of harming any of you, and that I had no idea how close I was to your pack." His deep lilted voice wafted through the air like a warm breeze. He hoped his words might calm them a bit. As an afterthought, he added, "I will leave if you ask it of me. I mean no harm or offense to any of you."

Fox arrived just as the Silvertip wolf began his speech, but the yearling leader listened only because she was not close enough to begin tearing the guy to shreds. Bazi, Njal, Jace, and the recent recruit Athena were all facing off against this "Majesty." Fox locked her eyes upon the outsider, her hackles raised and a growl in her throat. “Leave,” Fox demanded. “We will not ask a second time.”

The creek had been hit too hard too many times to take any chances so close to home. Considering Jinx was a territorial wolf, Fox did not want her to start expanding her already-massive territory all the way to the creek. The two packs were far apart, so this nonsense should not be happening in the first place. One against five was anything but a fair fight, and Fox knew from experience that her wolves would kill if needed.

The new recruit burst from the ground like a bang snap, glaring suspiciously at the foreign male. The girl was quick to join her pack, and was welcomed into the snarling fray with a curt nod from Bazi at the front and silent instructions to stay in the rear. Njal had arrived by this point, as had Jace, whose question she did not need to answer - the intruder was plain for all to see.

It didn't matter how pleasant or polite this Majesty was - that was the most frightening kind of intruder, in Bazi's opinion. Granted, her own encounter with Lunar had been semi-pleasant until Tuwawi had changed the tone (with good reason), but she had been exploiting that silly strumpet for information.

Thankfully, Fox arrived with exactly the right words before Bazi had to say anything. "They shame their alpha," she grumbled, mostly to herself but within earshot of those beside her. Jinx probably didn't condone this behaviour, but surely her underlings could deduce from their own alpha's standpoint on territory boundaries that other packs were to be given a wide berth. Especially the Creek, given it's lack of physical boundaries.

Athena stayed near the rear as instructed. She puffed her chest up, feeling proud now. Athena had survived on her own, however, because of her petite stature she excelled in running. She knew she would need to learn to use her keen and quick fighting skills more to be apart of this pack...

When the smaller of the wolves slunk in to the group, Njal turned an ear as if suspicious; but he realized upon Bazi's nod that this was one of their own. A new recruit most likely, one that he had not met. So he thought little more about the young Athena - keeping his attention, his full alert, upon the looming stranger. Fox arrived quickly and cast some words towards the entity, but the dark figure did not seem eager to leave. They could change that, given the order. Njal felt himself prickling with anticipation for the oncoming brawl; only a little resistant to the idea of fighting this odd creature off of their lands.

Bazi made a comment and Njal rumbled a low agreement, but said nothing. Either the wolves of the mountain were stupid, or they were under orders to invade the Creek explicitly. Considering the pleasant split between Jinx and the rest of them, that seemed unlikely. The recent arrival of so many Silvertip wolves was therefor not caused by Jinx's leadership, but her inability to control her own subordinates - something he was quite surprised by. Njal pondered these things as he watched for movement, but grew antsy and made the first step. He lurched closer to the poised individual - still patiently waiting for the order to truly attack - but made it clear that he was ready to take after the large stranger.

I hope that I get eveyrthing in the thread. I was kinda missed lol

Jace's ears flicked forward as he listened to the other wolf's words. He had asked a question mostly just to voice one, not really that he expected it to be answered he knew very well with one look why he had been summoned. Though he did not know the little female that came scurrying to their side and stayed behind he and Njal he could smell fox on her and that was enough for him.

Following Njal's movements he mimicked them only moving to the side opposite of Njal and gave the warden a nod to let him know he was there to help if the need should arise. He did not fear taking a life anymore, he was far too gone to back up now. He twitched an ear both in Fox's way and Bazi's as they both spoke and he wondered if they would have to give chase today or if the male would leave on his own.

There was far too much happening to the creek as of late and he couldn't help but wonder if the darkness was following behind him because it could.

OOC: Hi Guys! Quick question. I am sort of new to RPing and so I was wondering, is it okay for Athena to have multiple threads happening? Or are we allowed only one plot going on?

Athena stayed in the rear, glancing from one Creek wolf to the other. She knew she should lay low as she was new to the pack. Athena decided to be a chameleon. She had a knack for blending and adapting to any environment or situation. Athena's thoughts went to her mother, a fierce fighter. Her mother was never afraid or cautious to protect herself and her pups. Athena was different. She could fight when she needed to but she preferred to stay clear of conflict as best as she could. What Athena knew best was how to survive and be on her own.

She feared that the other Creek wolves would be slow to warm up to her. But she couldn't blame them. Quiet, shy, and introspective were words that described her best.

She turned her attention to the strange wolf. What was he doing here and how would be react? Violence or passivity?

OOC: First: Sorry for the late response. I've been busy. Second: Athena, as far as I know, you can have as many threads going at a time as you want, as long as you can keep up with the amount you have. You don't want to overwhelm yourself.

IC: Majesty watched with a hint of worry as the three male wolves grew more and more irritated and angry. He could tell which was the Alpha: the female with red markings, the one who had ordered him to leave. He knew because the males were all looking at her, as if waiting for her input or an order to do something, namely - attack him. He took a step back. It was time to leave.

"I am going now," he called across the space, his deep voice remaining calm and clear. "I will not come back so close to your territory. I suppose I must have missed the scent of the nearby border because it was mixed in with the smell of the creek." So as not to surprise any of them, he continued with, "I am going to go around you very slowly, alright? In an arc. I'm doing this because you are all standing right in the direction I need to go."

Slowly, he began to move around the snarling pack of wolves, being sure to keep his distance and his gaze steady. He did not look away from them because he wasn't sure whether that would spell disaster or not. He had learned at an early age not to turn your back on an enemy unless it was absolutely necessary. Finally, his back was facing the direction he needed to be in. He gave the group a final nod, out of respect, and then turned and charged for the Sunspire Mountain in the distance. His strong legs carried him away from danger swiftly, but he still felt uneasy about the whole thing. He just hoped he hadn't just caused his Alpha trouble.

OOC: I plan to make this my last post on this thread, but if any of you feel like charging after me and attacking, I give you permission. Just because this has been a fun thread. But I still would rather Majesty escaped unharmed… Either way!

I... think it's my turn? Chelle, Isabelle is right: you're more than welcome to have as many threads as you can handle. Heck, I've got 12 open ones right now!

Fox observed the male closely as he spoke, and nodded to confirm that she understood his intentions. Not that it would make up for his mistake, but it would certainly soothe her and her comrades for the time being. There was no need to fight if he was willing to leave peacefully. And really, that was all the creek wolves had wanted in the first place. As Majesty moved, Fox's eyes never strayed from his figure, ensuring that he was doing exactly as he said he would.

When the male had found his wide berth around them, he sped off into the distance and out of sight. It was only when Fox was one hundred percent certain he would not return that she relaxed and rolled her shoulders. Confident that he would not return (at least not today!), Fox thanked each of her creek wolves with nudges to their shoulders and other wolfish gestures to indicate she was thankful for their service and protectiveness.

Last post from me!

If Bazi had ever thought Jinx overly sensitive for reacting to any wolf that strayed within sniffing distance of her doorstop, those feelings were gone now. This made two Silvertip wolves that had journey across literal mountains to intrude on their territory, and that made every hair on her back stand to attention like an army of sharp, nervy little soldiers.

Athena did as she was bid, as did Majesty - but not without pointing out a fact that kept Bazi awake on moonless nights, when it was nearly impossible to see. Swiftcurrent Creek had no cliffs, no mountains, no barriers, and it was up to all of them to keep strangers well aware of the pack's existence. Not all intrudes would be so polite (or pompous-looking, the youth thought, watching the impeccably groomed male skirt around the gathering of quietly simmering Creek wolves).

Once again, numbers won. She bumped her nose against Fox as the rust-red leader passed her, and turned back towards home.

Jace's hackles lowered as did his shoulders and he shook his pelt free from the itchy feeling it had. With one last look at the youth he nodded to all the wolves gathered and with a small smile he went on his way loping towards the inner sanctum of the pack lands. He would perhaps do some hunting after all he had the time and the energy.

Athena let out a deep breath. She hadn't realized she was holding her breath from the tension in the air. It was still and settled by the time the strange wolf went on his way. She was glad for her packmates, thankful to finally be around others who cared...even if they had only just met her.

After bowing to her superiors, she turned and jogged off to explore more of the Creek.

The burly stranger spoke a few more words - things that Njal paid little attention to - and gradually moved away from the area. The thwarting of another wandering lone wolf had been successful. With a huff the man turned to regard the group of defenders, watching the small fire that was Fox as she maneuvered between them all, spreading a bit of camaraderie in passing. He looked to Bazi next, as the red and white fur mingled, but was unable to catch her gaze as she turned to head deeper in to the territory. Njal's instinct told him to follow the intruder, if only to shepherd him away in earnest. He did not trust this fool who had appeared twice now in their company. So without a word Njal turned towards the borderlands and marched off - pursuing the dark figure from a distance.

Exit Njal.
