@K'ramo Near the borders. The wolf is an NPC. Sorry for the double tag, accounts are hard. >_>

Jinx stood on the borders of her home, her hairs raised all along her spine with her tail arched aggressively over her spine. The tip quivered with the effort of remaining rigid, for the Alpha was awash in horrible memories as she stared out into the darkness of the Neverwinter conifers.

Hidden there, its eyes gleaming wildly, was a mountain lion. The feline was sleek and magnificent, but Jinx's original philosophy of leaving them alone had been shattered the day she lost her litter to one of the wild cats. This one was hunched over the body of a wolf, no doubt an unfortunate creature that would have been chased away by the territorial Silvertip Mountain pack anyway. Even it hadn't deserved that fate, though.

Jinx didn't know what reason the mountain lion had for attacking a wolf. In reality, the cat was protecting its cub, which was hiding further back in the forest, but that never occurred to the Alpha. The cat yowled deep in its throat and took a few menacing steps forward, sending the pale Kesuk back a few steps herself. A guttural snarl tore through her throat, but for the time being, she danced out of the cat's reach, knowing full well that it could charge her faster than she could get away if it chose to.

OMG your avatar is gorgeous! Also, the tag didn't work at all probably because of the apostrophe in my name... I'm afraid everyone is going to have to manually tag me now... >.< ... Erm. Tagging @Jinx just in case you didn't know I responded. <3

K'ramo had been slowly coming closer and closer to the mountain, which he knew held a pack. The scents of many wolves told the story of their home. And all the demon could think was, Excellent. He planned on being a one-man army up there, taking down as many as he could before he was taken down himself. Unless he killed them all. He could do that, he thought. In reality, he couldn't, but his logic had never made any sense and often gave him ideas that would never work if applied realistically. If the wolves of the mountain didn't kill him in the end - which he highly doubted - he would swear fealty to them. At least, that was the plan.

As he neared the base of the mountain, another scent that wasn't wolf stench assaulted his nose. Mountain lion. And suddenly, without thought, K'ramo was charging through the forest as fast as his big and bulky body would allow. Killing a mountain lion would be his greatest triumph yet! He burst through the trees at top speed, spotted the mountain lion, and headed straight at it like a train, hoping to knock it over with the force of his blow. As he neared the creature, he yelled the word, "Chaaalleeeenge!" It ripped from his throat like the roar of a dragon, and so hungry was his want for blood that he did not even notice the white-coated woman nearby.

The mountain lion stumbled and fell over as K'ramo hit it, and then promptly turned and whacked him across the face with its claws, roaring and hissing and lashing its tail. "Yeeeessss," he growled. "Blooood!" His eyes were frenzied and his body tense like a coiled spring. "Yooouur tuuuuurn!" he snarled, lunging toward the lion once again...

There was an odd and abrupt shift in Jinx's attitude when something dark and hissing bowled the cougar right over. Ordinarily, the Alpha would have seethed at the lone wolf's nearness to her pack, but presently she was so stressed about the feline's presence that she didn't care who was standing on her borders combatting it. Though the pair were a whirl of activity, the male wolf who had come to her rescue was clearly a nutcase, for he was crooning words that she never would have expected to be crooned to a cougar.

Nevertheless, the Alpha female took advantage of her ally and lurched into action. Admittedly, she didn't care if the lone wolf died in this assault—he was certainly insane enough, having taken the cat's claws to his face without even stopping. All she cared about was killing the cat. It was lashing its tail and its ears were slicked back to its sleek head, and as K'ramo lunged for it again, it seemed that the cat would catch him in its broad arms and hammer him with its sharply taloned feet...

That is, until Jinx smashed into its other side and sent it careening off balance again. The pissed mountain lion turned on the Alpha with a frenzied yowl and, dancing on its squatted hind legs, attempted to hook its foreleg around her neck so it could drag her to the ground. Its teeth shot out for her ear, a shot that the warrior female managed to narrowly avoid, though its fangs cut into her cheek and left a hot streak of blood in their wake.

The bloodlust was strong in K'ramo's body and mind, so that Jinx's actions were left completely unnoticed for the moment. He was fully prepared to charge the cat head-on when suddenly the cougar turned to hiss at something - someone else. The demon roared, thinking that perhaps the creature was turning away to run, and then he saw a white blur past the creature. A white blur that materialized into a wolf. A she-wolf. And this she-wolf was... trying to help him?

"Noooooo," he growled, not caring whether or not she actually heard him. "I need no help from yoooouuuu. The cougar is MIIIIIINE." With that, the black scarred wolf grabbed the mountain lion's haunches in his claws and dragged it away from the white female. The lion didn't like this at all, and quickly turned her body to snap her jaws at K'ramo.

The demon yanked his head away, but not before the lion nicked his nose with her fangs, so that hot blood spilled down his maw. He lunged forward and attempted to bite her right back, but she scrambled away from him...

Ordinarily, the Alpha female would have huffed, said “okay good luck with that,” and left the foolish and ungrateful male to die at the cougar's claws. She wasn't helping him as he claimed, anyway. The only thing stopping her from allowing him to take it on solo was the fact that it, and he, were on her borders, and she was duty-bound to protect her pack and territory from its wrath.

K'ramo dragged the cat back, and then suddenly surged forward, sending the mountain lion back in her direction. Seizing the moment, and ignoring anything the bizarre wolf hissed at her, Jinx lunged for the cat's shoulders. She managed to hook her teeth into its flesh, but it twisted agilely and caught her side with its clawed foot, tearing open a shallow gash in her flesh.

The female snarled painfully through the skin and fur held in her teeth and ground her teeth down, earning a yowl from the furious mother.

Sorry this took so long! I honestly sort of forgot about this because I've really just been trying to get back into posting with Majesty... >.< Should we wrap up the fighting soon so my insane wolf can get to the Jinx worship?

K'ramo growled in satisfaction as the she-wolf bit down into the cougar's shoulder, earning a yowl of pain. He took the time to rake his claws generously down the creature's side, making sure to dig in hard. This earned him a kick to the face, which sent him sprawling backwards, seeing stars. He shook himself and stood on unstable legs, trying to get his balance back.

Angrily, he lunged for the cougar again, biting the first thing he saw, which happened to be its tail. "Diiiieeee," he rumbled between clenched teeth, still keeping a firm grip on the tail.

Jinx let go for just an instant to readjust her grip and the sly cat slipped away from her. Inwardly cursing her clumsiness, the Alpha female readied herself to deal another blow, but the odd loner took her place, hissing in his queer voice as he snagged the cougar's tail. The feline seemed to think better of its predicament at this point, choosing to turn and flee into the woodland with the strange male in hot pursuit. A chorus of hissing and yowling followed the pair, leaving the Alpha to stand guard on her border in silence with her coat ruffled indignantly.
