All Welcome
Upon the earth's growth from the end of dusk, the sun began to rise and fortify its creatures above. The long tendrils of grass swaying calmly in the breeze with birds chirping, squirrels chattering and the occasional deer bleating - it was peaceful almost as much as it was beautiful. This day was young and it had a lot of time on its hands, just as one spritely individual had a lot of things in mind for the day and nothing at all.

Through the quiet came the raging and thundering paws as he raced through the grass at full speed. Winding this way and that purposefully as though he was getting more air this way than simply standing still. Woohoo! He shouted freely, pushing through the grass purposefully.

It had been so long since he had felt more or less free, while still understanding that there was always danger lurking somewhere. Roscoe just couldn't afford to think like that and he didn't want to live in fear of what might come after him or what someone could do to him. So he made the executive decision to frolic wildly and to his heart's content, eager to simply make his way wherever the sun took him.

While he was free and usually pretty observant, he wasn't a very good listener - so when his charging almost landed him straight into a fast moving current of water he quickly skidded to a halt with his golden eyes wide and surprised. Well then. He huffed, taking a few steps back and staring at the water that had now put a devastating halt to his freedom. What now?

hope you don't mind this girl <3 sorry if she's a bit inconsistent, i'm still figuring her out!
Her departure from Swiftcurrent Creek has, ultimately, brought her little grief. She'd found no true attachment to the pack, sundered as it'd been by the strange drama between the members. If anything, she's relieved to get away from it all. She's never been the biggest fan of commitment anyway; she's seen enough to know where that road leads, and she finds she prefers her freedom. The loss of security seems a small price to pay, especially with the first hints of spring sweetness in the air.
She finds herself in a fairly good mood today, perhaps a direct result of her departure from the creek pack — or perhaps it's simply a nice day. Either way, she's less inclined than usual to feel annoyed when a shout interrupts her thoughts. Her ears perk as she glances up, gaze searching. Her eyes find the source just in time to watch the frolicking figure in the distance skid to a halt near the water's edge, and a laugh slips from her automatically as she watches him back up with words she can't quite hear. She takes a few steps toward the stranger, amused and perhaps a little intrigued, but maintains her distance for the moment. Maybe he doesn't want company, or maybe he's touched in the head, or — yeah, she's going to wait and see what he does when he notices her. That's the best plan here.

The boy stared longingly at the fast paced water, dramatically even, as though willing it might part just for him. How was he meant to get across? Surely he could because there was a hell of a lot of expanse over there that clearly needed to be trampled through. Roscoe's eagerness was his downfall as he didn't even realize through his haste that someone was close to him. The moment he attempted to turn to his right and start trailing down the bank, he saw her salt&pepper form and stared blankly as if it was just a figment of his imagination.

That moment was probably a few moments too long but eventually he came into a smile, lifting his head up, and cocking his head like a true goober. Well hi there! he shouted merrily, certainly not expecting any company out here and certainly none right by the bank. Perhaps she had had the same idea and was trying to find a way across, too! I'm Roscoe; I like running through grass, kickin' rocks and peein' on trees. How's that for an introduction? By his own opinion, it was the suavest thing that had ever come out of anyone's mouth. He expected there were tons of folks that would absolutely die to be him - he was absolutely flawless!
