She had met a stranger who had offered her an edible and she had simply believed he had used a strange word for snack. He had offered her a strange mushy ball of honey, herbs and bits of seeds. It had been sweet and not hard to swallow but the medicinal edge made her aware that she had made a mistake. The stranger had bid her well and ran off leaving her to stumble around the mountains and back to the borders of Diaspora before the effects set in and she was lured away by siren song and the pull of adventure giggling until she passed out somewhere far, far away.
