Setting this before their departure thread. Open to anyone!

Danica was avoiding the Creek. Very soon they would be off and she could really let go, but as of now, she couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't welcome there. Mostly, though, she was avoiding Bazi. Tuwawi had been extremely gracious of the entire situation but Danica didn't want any sort of trouble to arise that would potentially ruin her placement in the new pack. It was in everyone's best interests that she lie low until she could leave it behind for good.

She was also testing the limits of her healing shoulder. The ache was uncomfortable but not unbearable and her trip had taken her quite a ways today. She had taken to the hot springs at a jog, gait uneven but holding up through the course of the journey. She wanted to let the warm water loosen it up even more, knowing that it could probably help. She also wanted to ensure that she could hold up under the pace they would likely be following. She didn't think that she would be left behind but couldn't bear the thought that she would be slowing the others down. Today was making her more optimistic in that regard.

She had stopped on the return trip, however, and was currently gazing up the side of Sheepeater Cliff. She was in no hurry to return. She had done some work to fill a few of the caches in her spare time but today wasn't even feeling like hunting. Instead she simply enjoyed the freedom of being away from it all.

I wanted a Danica thread and gosh diddly darn it I'll have one :p

The female had not yet found a pack that seemed to suit her based on appearances alone. It probably didn't help that during the woman's wandering of the Teekon Wilds that she'd only actively conversed with two wolves; a jerk who'd overreacted (though admittedly, she was beginning to wish she knew more of his story) and a fairly attractive lone wolf. Not very useful for finding a future home.

The cliffs she found herself examining from afar brought back memories from long ago; Alf had fucked her first mate on a mountain that had some sort of significance to him and then they'd scampered back down it with the sort of reckless abandon that could've gotten them killed. Or at least, that was how Alfhildr remembered it. She was scampering, at least. Adonis had always seemed too professional and composed to scamper, but Alf knew.

She regarded the memories fondly, even though the piece of shit had disappeared on her. Whatever. The past was the past.

Alf trotted closer to the cliffside, and a whiff of a familiar pack hit her nostrils. Her lips curled back to reveal pearly teeth instinctively; for fuck's sake, if she had to deal with that dipshit again, she'd climb the cliffs just to fling herself from them. Okay, so that was a morbid train of thought. Not entirely inaccurate, though, for how rundown Alf was getting.

The direction of the breeze changed, wafting more of the pack wolf's scent toward the tawny she-wolf. A sigh of relief escaped her; it wasn't Mr. Dickface.

Padding cautiously toward the stranger, Alf took in the female's visage. She looked nice enough. Alfhildr's tail gave a tentative wag as she barked a greeting to the woman. Making her presence known would either make Alf a super special new friend or royally fuck her over.

Ahh, I was hoping you'd pop in here! I wanted an Alf thread <3

What a picture she probably made, standing like an idiot with her nose to the sky, staring up at the cliffside and the sky beyond. But somehow, Danica couldn't make herself care about that. She just couldn't stop going over what Tuwawi had said, her mind racing despite the calm she'd hoped to find.

We will be leaving tomorrow at dawn.

Tomorrow, bright and early, her life as she knew it would end and a new one would begin, one with two highly trusted wolves at the helm but a somewhat frightening mystery all the same. She cracked a smile at the thought. At least that was a plus... life would hardly be stale for a while. She did like a bit of excitement.

An approaching stranger made a sound behind her and all thoughts dropped. For a second, she thought of perhaps ignoring the greeting, simply walking away without a word. Her mind wasn't really in a good place for conversation, her mood focused more inward than anything at the moment. But she didn't necessarily abhor the idea of company either, and the female sounded harmless enough.

Danica turned golden eyes to her, taking in her appearance. She cut an impressive figure, large, athletic, and in truth, rather attractive, though that part of Danica's brain was shut down harshly for the moment. She wasn't a glutton for punishment, much as she loved to speak her mind. Better yet, though, this stranger had not a pack scent about her. It would be nice not to have to deal with those politics tonight.

"Hey," she responded, the greeting friendly if a bit less enthusiastic than the one she had been given. She did have the grace to give a smile, though... it wasn't this stranger's fault she'd had a pretty shitty week.
