All Welcome
The rains backed off today, and here late in the afternoon, the sun got to shine for once. Even in her seclusion, Opalia did intend to make good use of it. But, her worry outran her already, despite the welcome sunshine that seemed overbearing now after so long, so dreary.

Her paws traced a familiar path, though she had not used it in some time. Not since before the rains had started.. and how long had that been? It felt like one endless, gray blur. Anyway, she had been keeping herself busy covering other ground on the mountain, silently trying to rebuild some of her lost strength and motivation over the long summer of never feeling quite-right, so those doings kept her away from Dacio's last resting place. But curiosity was going to win out today with enough duty to make it worthwhile. She wanted to check on it, see how it fared in all the rain.. maybe, subconsciously, "visit" her brother--or all she was able to. Something told her she should, despite the distance she had tried to keep after wallowing here just after brought her no relief.

The gona rounded the last bend and slowed her paws down with a heavy sigh once realization hit. Seems like what had once been his den, his last resting place, had collapsed in on itself--probably thanks to the washout, or at least some of these heavy rains lately. The disturbance bothered her in principle, but honestly, it was for the best. The beta Ostrega had helped her sort of blockade the entrance, saying he had done the same for his lost ones before--so she had marked the place with that before. This.. this just seemed to further return the hollow, and her brother's bones with it, back to the mountainside. As soon as next spring, she guessed the plants would grow over the little hill with some stones in it.. and that was that, hardly even a landmark.

She met this realization with a frown, and found a spot just before the former-den for a lonesome sit to regroup before she inevitably, moved on once more.
