All Welcome
Though not often inclined to birdchase, Piety had set aside time for the task today after spying a flock of herons foraging at the brim of a waterfront plateau. He had never been this close to such long-necked birds, and the wolf wanted to catch one quite badly. Not because he craved the taste, or thought they might be a fulfilling prize – he didn’t. But because he was bitterly, undeniably, attracted to the prospect of having one of their ragdolled bodies for a floppy chewtoy. He was obsessed with the thought.

Prowling forward, as carefully as his heft would allow, the mountain shadow pooled closer and closer to his quarry. He was about ready to propel into an attack when one of the many bird’s eyes in the area spotted him at the last moment, and sent the entire crowd of waterfowl into a flurry of frantic movement and noise.

He tried fruitlessly to salvage the hunt by springing belatedly into action, but in the end of things he was left standing at an abandoned lakeside, peering up longingly as his frivolous fantasy simply flew away.

For @Kynareth Deagon at last :3
