Reflecting back at him the grim October sky, diffused clouds, and of course his own handsome face, but it certainly couldn't be real; it was an oasis, the likes of which rivaled anything he had ever seen within his old southern home.
He lingered on the edge of it. Not drinking, not taking a chance at the fish or the frogs he could smell among the water and the mud. Settled among the reeds, watching.
