this one greets you, holcan.ajaw rumbles upon sabah's approach, forehead lowering to touch her's in their customary greeting of the holcans.

ajaw thinks of the pack woman that came to tikal's foundling borders and spat words at them in the tongue of the many ... without explination.
even still, her hostility — as far as ajaw can see — is unwarranted and left without explanation prickles at their curiosity.
this one will take the holcan in training, if she feels ready to the smaller pack to the south of tikal,for how else would she learn how ajaw expected diplomatic situations to be handled even without their presence if she was not taught?

sabah presents a truth that in ajaw's arrogance, they have overlooked. just because ajaw did not smell many in their direction did not mean they could not hold her own. did not mean they could not destroy.

There were other holcan. But with ajaw's change of mind, he still chose her in their stead.
Part of her wanted to argue that he should take another. But then, hadn't she argued enough? Holcan were meant to be wise, yes... but also obedient.
