Rosewater Oasis And there's so much left to say

solaire had journeyed on and found herself at a vibrant oasis. in a way, greatful for the opportunity to stumble upon it, despite the negative encounter the night before. in the desert the sun was harsh and the things in the distance seemed to waver in the heat, but here a blue crystal lake was surrounded by a land of grasses and life. it was a good sign, she decided. 

the golden siren settled herself at water's edge, first taking a drink of the calm water- refreshing, thanks to her dehydration- and then her heart longed for the sea, and she slipped into the blue completely, swimming aimlessly in the shallow area and enjoying the feeling of cool water flowing through her fur.

The oasis drew many toward it, like a trap cleverly designed to appeal to one’s deepest desires. In this case, it was thirst- and the desire to be cooled. Like many, she drank first and then swam.

Tucked away in the shade of a frond, the russet man smiled, revealing a glint of his yellowing teeth. He coveted her beauty. Not all who came to the oasis were looked upon with such desire. 

He remained quiet, appreciative.
