A nightmare came upon her on swift paws. It tightened it's hold on her throat and dug in so deeply that she was ill. She woke with a start and without thinking or even speaking. She was off like a rocket. Body racing through the brush and the trees. Paws hitting ground and stick and moss. Too far gone to notice that she was running deeper from home.
She tripped a branch a rock? A monster and landed with a yowl of pain. The crushing pain in her right forepaw and leg. She stood on shaking limbs, with her limb hanging strangely and pressed onward. To far in her own nightmares to realize it wasn't good.
Every step was agony, but she raced on. Finally a bursting of bright light, a sharp pain and she knew no more.
