All Welcome 
It was a thorough bathing that freed her from a world of darkness. Her face was clean, and her cheeks warmed from the caress of a parent’s tongue. She worked her jaws, yawned a happy yawn, and when she smacked her gums together, she found suddenly that she felt an odd sensation just above her mouth, but below her puppy ears. 

It wasn’t painful at all, opening her eyes for the first time. She blinked over and over again, using her eyelids which now seemed to be able to move open and closed, rather than just squinting harder. Little slivers of milky blueish eyes peeked  shyly at the world, which was all a blur- but new, and therefore fascinating,
