He'd stumbled across pack borders earlier and was doubling back. Those edges were well defined, sharp, and well loved by whoever made those lands their home. He had no interest in making a nusance of himself nor did he wish to tempt fate by being a stubborn ass and ignoring something so obvious as a claim. No. He'd turn back. He'd dodge the territories of these parts until he was ready to give up his freedom and fall into order.

He ended up back in the forest, retracing his steps as he turned away. One foot over the other, he made easy ground as he turned his trail northeast, back towards the mountains he'd discovered made for far better resting places than flat terrain. The sun had reached its peak not long ago. He had several more hours to venture before he had to think seriously about any kind of shelter. If he could put enough distance between himself and that pack, perhaps he'd have enough time to grab an evening snack and sleep on a contented belly.

Until then, he moved as a russet shadow between the trees. His paws picked their places carefully as they ushered him onward and outward.

CROSSFIT MOVE CLEAN & JERK RARA, thanks for starting!

Tonravik, on occasion, explored for the once leader of the Spine. The woman knew the woman might regret her choice and return to the wolves she had abandoned. Tonravik trusted those that remained in the Spine for all this time, but did not trust the woman that had run from her post. If she came back, she was a desperate thing. If there was so much a hint of her scent, Tonravik would know. And then, she would watch. Wait.

It was early, and the leader would return to her home before noon. Her nose moved from earth to sky, her eyes watching her surroundings. She could smell a wolf nearby, but given the fact that this wolf was male and smelled nothing like the other man that had run from the Spine, there was very little interest there. Her mission was simple, and it would take little time to determine if the Spines runaway queen was in the vicinity.

Yesssss! Love me some crossfit. You have no idea how close this thread title was to being "Death by Burpees"

The pack was following him. Okay. Not the pack, but someone that smelled a heck of a lot like it. Okay fine. Also not following him, but getting close. His head lifted, ears rising as he tipped his nose skyward to get a better whiff of the air. He had a moment to curse the fact that he was in a forest and that the wind was not nearly strong enough to push or pull too much in either direction. Nevertheless, he knew he was not alone. Now it was just a matter of determining whether or not his curiosity would get the best of him.

Oh the hell with it. He was gonna take a look.

His course turned, altering his path to run parallel with the wolf in the distance. He wandered through the trees, watching the shadow of a wolf as she roamed the land. They moved in tandem for a while, before he broke the paces, deciding to be forward as opposed to a lingering nuisance. There were no secrets here. He had the distinct feeling she also knew he was around. Better to make it a mutual proximity than assuming they linger in the same area without eventually pissing the other one's patience off.

"You." His voice broke through the otherwise still air. "Me." His golden gaze turned towards her as he paused a comfortable distance from the she-wolf. He took a single step forwards and stopped again. "Interested?" He quirked a wolven brow and waited.

I think you and I will get along JUST FINEEEEE. Love it, too! Though I'm still a bit of a novice x-x pls excuse my verbose eloquent ton

The bulky shadow seemed to move with her. Sometimes, these things happened before one drifted the other direction. In this monolithic forest, no path was hard and none was easy. She had passed many by, here. Usually it was she who took care to change her path to be sure she had no undesired interactions. But, it was better to stay on this course so that she could continue tracking. There was no point in diverting her own path at this point.

Naturally, it was when that thought passed that the other saw it fit to have their paths intersect. But more than that, they began to talk. His words were short, which she appreciated, but in the end, they were vague. Tonravik was given pause, and blinked slowly, scrutinizing him for a moment. The male was a fit one, and she saw plenty of potential in him. It was for that reason she remained, for the second, her attention still upon him as her two ears cupped and swiveled toward the other. Apparently, she was interested enough not to walk away.

Yessss! You'll also have to forgive Kero of this...

Oh god. Then she turned around. "Forget I said anything. Your face makes my penis soft." Seriously. She was a bear of a female. Black with brownish eyes that seemed to fade into the rest of her hide. She didn't really hit his radar of attractiveness, then again he was male and she had a vagina so that was really all any guy needed to get his groove on.

"Or you could just turn around and I could forget I saw anything." Worth a shot. "Then we could scratch the itch and forget any of this ever happened." Smooth. Real smooth.

LMFAOOOOOO. NO TAKE BACKS. GR8 POST

Her interest was quick to leave. Piqued only by the potential he could be a wolf worth having in the ranks, it became clear he was not in a span of seconds. Truth be told, Tonravik was not all that attractive a woman. Perhaps the only thing that might make her attractive to any suitor was the simple fact that she promised strong offspring and she had hips that would make the birth fairly easy and so the survival rate was surely great. She did not know; she had never had cubs.

Tonravik let loose a low snarl at his next words. No. She wanted to be remembered this way, her facade all the uglier as the woman revealed to him a row of fangs that had taken the lives of many. The wolf was far from Aphrodite, but had never the desire to be remembered as a pretty woman. Only a strong one. If there was any itch to be scratched today, it was the itch she had for dominating.

Bwahahaha! Thank you. Having way too much fun with this.

Yup. There it was. The snarl. The grumble within the female's chest that let him know he'd crossed a line somewhere. Or maybe barreled into all of them. Through all of them. What the hell. He'd come in like a wrecking ball and ended without the kind of explosion he'd been looking for... if you know what I mean...

Damn. That was the trouble with wolves. Always looking for commitment. Never happy with a well placed fuck. Always had to say a few fancy words over an alter before you could rock your socks off. Maybe he'd lie to someone, lie with them, then liar-liar pants on fire the hell out of there.

"My bad. I'm sure someone will eventually find you attractive. Eventually. If not, your parents have to think you're pretty so just keep believing them. They'd never lie to you."

Mwahahaha me too. Ton hasn't dealt with this >) LET ME KNOW if any of this is wrong, I wasn't sure if he was kind of broad side or just head on to her, in which case I'll fix my post!

Tonravik wasn't vain. Beauty meant nothing to her. But she was proud. And also, terribly impatient. Whatever he had to say, the woman hadn't the patience to deal with it, and mid-speech Tonravik wasted no time in rushing to close the distance between them. The only thing to betray her intent was the quick forward-thrust of lobes over brow, and then, she moved toward him swiftly. Curiosity, she learned today, was a waste. Stupidity, she hoped to teach him, was a legitimate pain.

Given the male was broadside, the large woman simply hoped to barrel her significant weight into him in a mighty shove, fangs snapping at his face with no real mark. She had warned him. Mouthy men only ever ended up bleeding when they attempted to bite more than they could chew. This one would choke. Really, him just disappearing would appease her, but so too would his blood.

Hahaha! Love it. Good post!

Oh shit. She rushed him.

Totally hadn't been expecting that, but he didn't blame her. He was being kind of a jerk. If he were in her situation, he'd probably snap at him too. Something. Then again if he were in her situation he'd also have been horny as hell and would have turned around and lifted his tail or something. Got in a good fuck and walked off, hopefully a little sore.

But this? This was kinda hot.

"Ohh! Do it again." If this was her idea of foreplay, he was up for giving it a try.

Kero stumbled a bit, taking a few paces to regain his balance as he widened his stance to allow for a little more stability. Her teeth snapped, catching his whiskers as he steadied himself and turned round to face her. "All you gotta do is tell me what you need. I'd be more than happy to accommodate. I can do rough."

He sized her up a moment before charging, turning his head downwards as he attempted to headbutt her side. Little bit of a warm up. Nothing too harmless. It'd been a while since he'd played like this and since she was mute, there'd be no good in a safeword. Oh. But he could totally have one.

"By the way. My safe word is 'Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.' That's three 'Oh god''s. Any more or less and you can just keep going."

His stumbling was all she needed. Tonravik was deaf to his words, and as he stepped backward she stepped forward. As he turned, he went to speak. Tonravik did not enable it; as he spoke, she went at him, but he seemed to catch on. She was quick herself to turn broadside now, sliding slightly to attempt ram the apex of her shoulder into the head he thrust forward like a bludgeon. Her own move was perhaps more aggressive than his own, with the intent to knock sense into him.

And, as he spoke of safewords, well, she didn't need to hear it. Snake-like, her own muzzle reached out, fangs bared to try and grab his own muzzle in a dominating fashion between her jaws. The woman was a wolf well-versed in combat, and was far from exerting any true amount of energy upon him, but certainly sought to deliver some well-aimed blows... though not in the fashion he desired.

Ouch. Her shoulder blade was a hell of a lot harder than his dick right now. Then again, so was his skull. That one, was gonna hurt later, but luckily for him he'd already scouted out a stream with water like ice so he could nurse that headache later. Until then, it seemed the lady wished to protest so much. Her snarling and snapping became a little more purposeful. She seemed blind to anything more than their body language. Perhaps she was deaf in addition to her muteness. Except her growling chords worked... so that gave off mixed signals.

He pulled his muzzle back, barely escaping her snapping jaws as she found purchase on his whiskers once more. Actually, he thought she might have gotten one because his muzzle stung a bit. "Might wanna blow on that one, sweet heart. Make a wish. Might come true. But shhh. Don't tell me what it is, or it won't happen." He made no promises. He only knew that where she moved lighting fast, he was well adapt at attempting to dodge the well deserved slap of a woman. Then again, there were a number of times when he'd earned them enough to embrace the pain. This was becoming one of those times.

Kero stayed within her range, turning with her so they were standing flank to flank, shoulder to shoulder. He ducked his head and threw his body, shoving his shoulder against her own as his muzzle slipped beneath her chin. He attempted to knock at it with his nose, lifting that chin of hers so that he might lick across her underside of her maw and chance those snarling teeth. She might have been out for blood (something he was oblivious of), but he was well within the range of good humor. He could play.

Tonravik ........... man .........
A mild amount of pain blossomed in her shoulder when his head made contact. All the better for him; when the head was numb, one hardly felt the pain of anything else. But there were plenty of negative consequences that came with it. He was already a wolf lacking a brain... but as he continued to speak Tonravik worried for an instant that she'd made him dumber than when he came. Tonravik again lashed out as he spoke; he wasted his breath, and her "patience". But as she moved, he, too, moved with the same intent. Her chin was tucked, and so when his muzzle tried to wedge beneath hers to land a lick to beneath her chin, he'd only succeeded in lapping at the side.

Oddly enough, that move appeased her. It was akin to the chin lick, which any wolf knew to be submissive (even if that had not been the direction he had meant to go in). Tonravik rest her weight then on all fours, moving to again attempt to grip his muzzle while his face was so horrifyingly close to her own. Tonravik did not need his blood, now. Just his quiet, and his muzzle in between her jaws, which, if she succeeded, she would not crush, simply release. I'm in charge.

-laughs- She's fun.

Welp. That was stupid. He'd been a bit too close this time and while he'd successfully landed a lick, she'd managed to capture his muzzle in her mouth. Her big mouth; which she clearly wasn't using properly as she hadn't said a damn thing since he'd run across her.

He scowled, captured for the moment, but his frown was mostly over the forced silence. He tired to part his jaw and failed. Her own jaws were holding his shut which meant his chattering wasn't gonna happen until she decided to let go. Strangely enough, his inability to speak was more annoying than the rest of this encounter.

Kero sidestepped, working his body around as much as he could to get a better look at her her. Golden pools sought out her murky gaze as he stared back, wondering when she'd let him go. His ears fell, frustrated as he curled his lips in attempt to speak. All he managed was a muffled drone that didn't even make sense on his own ears, which sucked since he knew in his head what he was trying to say.

He sighed. Fine. He could wait this out.

I really love this thread lmfao

Success. Tonravik held fast, even when he squirmed. While he internally struggled, Tonravik veritably glowed. This, she enjoyed. His attempts to speak were muted by the gentle weight of her jaws, and when at last he settled into quiet, she released him. Tonravik liked him best like this, quiet, and at last they had established with one another something of worth to the dark leader. An ear flicked as she now moved nearer to him, her gears shifted now that she was appeased to sniff at him.

He had no ties to anywhere.

"You are strong," she commends, circling him loosely and again arriving at his side. "Unwise, but strong." She shrugged. It could all be fixed by removing his tongue, but that very tongue had stopped her from tearing into him. Her head tilted as she looked at him. His size was near her own, which was likely how he could hold his own in their scuffle, and her ear flicked. Where was his interest, now? There the killer of boners stood, proud and regal in all her glory.

Um yes. So. So much fun. I'm still laughing.

Oh thank god. She couldn't have released him soon enough. He lifted a paw, rubbing at his muzzle. The places where her teeth had claimed his nose itched and he prayed to the high heavens she didn't have some kind of mouth herpes that was saliva contagious. That would put a serious dent in his A-game. He didn't want to have to start with that. "Hey. I have mouth herpes. Let me do you," just didn't have the right ring to it.

Sometime during his nose itching, she'd started to circle him. Kero sat down, allowing himself better balance as he hooked a paw over his muzzle and kept scratching. Deciding he'd be better off not giving into the itch, he forced his foot back to the ground and kept wrinkling his nose. If he could itch it this way, maybe he'd be better off.

"You're ugly," he said back as she spoke. "Your voice is hot, but your face is ugly." There. If she'd ascertained him as something, he could return the favor. "I'd do you in the dark." Actually, he'd still do her now, but he had this kind of feeling like she was the kind of woman who liked to be on top and he was having trouble visualizing how that might work given their anatomy. Maybe she knew. "Can we have sex now?"

Truth be told, "ugly" was not in her limited vocabulary. She had never heard the word. So she took to the word, and looked to him with plenty of pride even still... but was now bored of this. He had not tired from his initial goal, but she had tired now of him. He spoke too much. He would not be good for the Spine. The woman had considered it, but the opportunity had gone. Useless except as an item to train with and push around.

Not deigning to reply, Tonravik shook out her furs and moved to leave. The Spine beckoned, and her interest in the once-leader of the place had died for the while. Tonravik had other things to attend to and do, and none of them happened to be the unintelligent wolf she fully intended on leaving behind.

Not sure if she was fully set on leaving. Let me know and I can edit in a fade.

Just like that, huh? Get a man all riled up, compliment him, then turn and leave? Blue balls sucked. And nursing a boner later was not so fun. There were too many teeth and an awkward position involved if he tried to do it himself. Alternatives seemed a little... crude and a heck of a lot less satisfying. Nevertheless, his ears flattened as he watched her go. No doubt she had other business to attend to. She smelled of pack. That kept a wolf busy. Him? He had all the free time in the world.

Alas, the playful humor that hovered about him dissipated. He noted her change in course and recognized the direction she was now headed in. Back towards the pack lands. Back home. Back to the safety of those she found dear. Distracted her much, had he? Enough to lose interest in whatever she was doing before? He'd noticed. He was going to let her know he knew.

"Turn around." His voice cracked across the space between. There was no humor in it now, just the baritone of his natural cords. "You were going the other way before, or have you forgotten your business here?"

I'm good with whatever! Ton does her own thing, LMFAO. If you want to fade or keep going, HAVE AT IT

His words were received with a flippant flick of the ear. She had heard his loud, booming voice. It did him no good. Tonravik marched onward, her business decidedly over with. He had taken more of her time than she had cared to spare, and for nothing. He had distracted her from her plan... but the Spine was more important than the runaway, and if the runaway showed her face, Tonravik would be there to eatmeet it.

If Tonravik had the patience to deal with him, she might have stuck around; but, she had no patience at all, and had gotten what she wanted in the end. Were he more mature, perhaps her interest would not have ended so soon... but his sole interest did not at all intrigue her. Copulating for fun was not something she knew. And so as tantalizing his suggestion to some it might be, it certainly had done nothing to or for her. She continued onward, homeward bound.

Feel free to archive or post again. We're also flexible over here. Either way, these two should thread again if Ton feels up to it. This was fun.

He smirked. Either she'd heard him and chosen to ignore him (something he was used to) or she'd not heard him at all. He was familiar with both scenarios. Ignore him long enough and he shut up, though, as she'd proven, a quick clamp over his muzzle was good for that too. Leaving the area? Also a scenario he'd seen a number of times before. Avoidance was always a good solution. Solved tons of problems.

Kero rose, stretching a bit. Whatever had been itching his nose before seemed to have disappeared now that his mind was distracted. "It's cool," he said, slipping into a downward dog and rolling his shoulders forward into the upward counterpart as he stretched his hindquarters. "I'd run home and take a nap too. Walking and growling is so exhausting." He shook his head, rolling his eyes at her fading hide. Run home to your pack, sweetheart. Disappear into safety of that comfort zone.

He went his own way. This world had plenty lands left to explore.
