suddenly the coast seems booming with activity. samothes has not made much effort to make note of nearby packs beyond engel's ironsea, but the explosion of settling wolves is hard to miss. tactically, it makes him uneasy: their claim has longevity but their numbers are not strong enough to defend the forest, should territorial dispute break out.
for now there is little he can do but observe and wait and hope they strengthen their numbers. feeling the urge to roam, the messeda slips from their borders and makes his way toward the cliffs, coming to a stop where the green fields give way to darkened rock. winter feels neverending -- were it not for the cycles of women he would not realise how close they were to warmer days. will the arrival of new life in each pack stir them into aggression? (will ravensblood -- actually, he doesn't really care.) well. he hopes not, but who can say, except thank god his sister isn't going to have children.

The shadowrunner left the forest very little. Not because he did not feel the need to explore the surrounding territories, but because the swarthy wolf had been encompassed in the rising of Ravensblood Forest. They were uncomfortably small in numbers now that Screech had left – and the wolf felt the first tinge of worry within his chest.
He trailed the fresh scent of Samothes. The ivory wolf was one who had been loyal, though the two remained familiar with one another only through brief conversations. He quickened his pace as his fiery gaze landed upon the man, uttering a low bark to gain his companions attention. “Samothes,” he greeted, his eyes drifting to scour across the dark rock before them. “How are you?”

his solitute is interrupted by the welcome presence of their shadowy leader. samothes dips his head in greeting, shifting to allow constantine to come closer should he wish and to face him more fully to speak. "well, thank you," he returns, any hint of his churning thoughts absent from his smooth tones, "how are you?"
formalities settled, the messeda looks back to the coast, his expression turning thoughtful. "it's gotten busy around here," he comments mildly, sure constantine is as aware as he of the sudden increase in neighbors. if nothing else, it's worth speaking about it, seeing if the shadowrunner has any opinion on their position amongst the lot.
