Verdigris Ravine Within the days of sand

On long limbed legs. And gangly ears. With wide eyes and wrinkled nose. Andi went slowly towards the light that hung outside the den. 

A curious gaze and wild thoughts. She felt alive in the sand. It curled around her paws like little friends. The wind brushed warmth across darkened shoulders. And she wondered what was beyond the door.

Chisa, had been the last to open her eyes…. She woke up from her nap to see her sissy walking outside, so she stood up in her little legs and followed behind her. She closed her eyes for a moment, so she could slowly let them adjust to the bright sunlight. Slowly, and slowly, she open them up and saw everything…. A land covered in gold, flecked with little green things…. She managed to let out a little sound, “sannd?” She felt the warm sun on her coat, just like mummy’s warmth.

Andi wasn't sure what to do once she made it to the doorway. She blinked wide eyed and huddled closer to Chisa in surprise and a small dose of fear. 

A tilt of her ear. A turn of her head. SAN? She didn't have the vocal range that Chisa had yet, but she could understand how words were made, just not the optics behind it.

She reached a tentative paw out and tapped at the ground, watching in awe as it shifted.

Sorry I’m late, some stuff came up

Her sissy leaned into her, why? She must have been nervous, she wagged her tail once and looked at her reassuringly. Then took a step or two to show her it was okay. 

Sand was a bit rough, but warm, a texture she would soon learn to use to her advantage.

Andi followed beside her sister. Eyes on the golden sand. It was home. Familiar.

The sand tumbled beneath her paws. She giggled. And smacked them against it again. Watching as it moved beneath paws.

She giggled in response, it was fun. It was so interesting, just how easily the sand moved…. And splattered, she shook to shake some off, stumbling a bit then righting herself.

Andi reached to help her sister.  But she toppled over onto her resr end with a squeal and a puff of sand. Which then followed with a bout of sneezing so intense it rocked her backwards a few inches.

Then she sat with wide eyes and open mouth to bewildered to cry.

She turned around, Andi had tried to help her, only to tumble herself into the sand. She squealed, was she okay? She wasn’t crying so that was good… but it was all so new for both of them. She wondered where mum was? And Kira….

She yawned, they both had played and adventured quite a bit today.

Deciding she was done adventuring. She look3d at her sister and moved her body so she could lay flat and left space for chisa to lay too.

A small yawn and she closed her eyes intent now to take a nap.

She laid next to her sister comfortably and closed her eyes after a small yawn. This was perfect….
