Mudminnow River Down by the river

Sunlight peeked sporadically from the clouds as a cold breeze whipped across the barren white lands, Aeliana had woken a long time ago from her little tuck away spot within an old, hollowed out log and was trudging through the snow, she was tall enough and strong enough that the inches upon inches of snow did little to hinder her path, all she had to worry about was just sudden dips in the land she won’t see. 

Breathes left her in hot puffs as she left a path of disheveled and trampled snow in her wake as she made her way down to the Mudminnow River, the water was always moving so it hardly froze over but it was a bit murky. As she approached, she looked around for any type of danger before sliding down, stopping herself at the rocky banks, her head dripped down and she began to lap water out of the river for several minutes before lifting her head and scanning over the icy landscape with a keen eye. Her stomach growled, aching to be filled but this time she didn't want to scavenge, she craved fresh meat. She wanted to feel flesh between her teeth and blood on her tongue. The struggle, the fight. All the stuff a real hunt provides, but she didn't see any prey... at least not out in the open...  She lets out a sigh but soon became alert as her ears picked up the distant noise of someone or something approaching.
