It's just as the sun reaches it's peak in the bleak midsummer sky that Xizur finds himself slipping from the comfort of the greenwood into the unfamiliar scenery of the sprawling cliffside. Gulls and various other seabirds circle overhead as the rowdy youth makes his way across the bluff, uninterested in anything other than a young western seagull he's set his sights on. The fledgling was too preoccupied with securing it's lunch to notice the agouti child closing in on them until just a moment before the boy sprung forward with a surge of energy.
Any onlookers would have witnessed the predicable outcome of the gull flying off to safety and the brash youth being left to fall flat on his face in a pathetic display of epic failure. Fortunately for Xizur his pride was wounded more than he was and while a few cuts and bruises were sure to take up his attention later on, the boy licked himself clean of any blood and set himself up to try again, and again, and again, and again until either he earned himself a meal or the sun went down.
