Someone she hasn't met yet, perhaps?
It was good to be back. She missed her mother terribly, of course, but they were both beginning new chapters of their lives. Angel was determined to make the most of this, and to see the journey through. Already, the valley held something of her heart, and she could feel it growing in her chest like a weed.Breathing in the fresh, cold air, she set off around the territory's perimeter, leaving her scent here and there to make her presence known. She'd faded from the borders in her absence, and she didn't like that — but soon, no one would pass by without knowing that she lived her.
But she paused, here and again. Right now, in fact. To stop and listen to the haunting, whistling cry of the elk in the distance. There would a hunt very soon. A hunt in honor of her return.
A small smile tugged at her mouth as she carried on her way.

kasia didn't quite understand the reality of being here, or sega and callahan's immediate pity? no, kindness they showed to her. she felt that most would shy away from her upon hearing of any mention of her past. she couldn't believe that she found herself a part of a pack once more, much less a pack that actually respected her as an individual rather than only value what she could bring to the table.
she supposed it would be wise to go out and scout, mark boundaries, and potentially come across any wayfarers like herself a few short days ago. she trotted through heavy snow; she held her head low with her nose pointed to the ground, just to gather in any scent that may be nearby.
her eyes spotted another wolf nearby, judging by the way she was already scent marking landmarks, she was also a great sky wolf. kasia stood back several feet from where the other was scouting. she didn't want to intrude while her packmate was completing her task.

Angel idled again to lift her leg on a fallen log, her thoughts quiet and her soul content. Before she carried on, however, she sensed a presence behind her. One ear twisted back at the sound of paw steps, and then she turned her head to take in the newcomer.
Angel recognized her scent. She had familiarized herself with all the scents in the valley.
"Hello," she chirped, not moving and closer herself. She did, however, turn to face the older woman head-on. Her tail whisked in welcome. "My name is Angel Oak," she prompted, her eyes bright and curious on her packmate.

the other she-wolf had noticed her. kasia was taken aback by her friendliness, all the wolves of great sky were friendly, she supposed. she'd shared that her name was angel oak, strange name, she thought to herself. many have thought her name was strange, too, so she really didn't have room to judge,
"hi," she began, "kasia, i am kasia," she introduced herself to angel oak, "you are also great sky, no?" she inquired. kasia already assumed the other was part of the pack, but it never hurt to ask. with her friendliness and all, it was pretty obvious she was from here.
she hoped she didn't find kasia stupid for asking.

Her ears flickered at the sound of the woman's voice, her interest rising even as her eyes narrowed. In truth, she was only trying to place the woman's accent.
"Yes," she answered, obviously, but she assumed the woman was asking just because she didn't know what else to say, and not because she wasn't actually sure. "C'mon," she invited with a whisk of her tail. Friendly still, but it was clear she did not expect to be turned down as she explained, "I'm just marking the borders right now."
She turned aside, waiting for Kasia to catch up.
"You came here not long ago," she said. A statement, but a question, too. Angel wanted to know the exact circumstances that'd brought Kasia here. She was too polite to pry outright, but too, she assumed that everyone was as eager and chatty as she was — even despite having been proved wrong time and time again.
