Go back to the den and rest? He nearly laughed. It was the den that tiring him out. "I can't go back right now." he said. "That's what is tiring me out. I'd rather do something active." he needed to be hunting, to stretch and flex those muscles that seemed to ache with lack of use. He noted, from the next conversation point, that she seemed happier than he that the pups were going to be born. It made him happy to see her smile - though if he knew her secret addiction to death he might have feared somewhat for her.

"Come with me? I wanted to talk to you about something anyway." he had to make this pack business some how. "I want to put the pack on higher alert. We need to step up the border patrols - scare away visitors without a legitimate reason for being here. With the pups coming soon I don't want any chance that anything can slip in - or out - without us knowing." He looked at her, the undertone clear in his eyes.
