He spoke again, using longer sentences and words that she took longer to process. Tomahawk furrowed her brow, trying to turn the syllables into words. From words, she turned them into phrases. The phrases added up to sentences. Sometimes questions, sometimes merely statements. The whole comprehension part of it took her the better part of a minute as she mumbled repeated words under her breath.
"Speak common tongue," she said with a nod, though after pausing, she followed up with a shake of her head. "Not can teach. Need more Dotharan." Hopefully, once she knew more of their language, she could translate between the two languages. As it currently was, she could barely hold a conversation. Taking orders was easy enough, even if she occasionally had to be reminded of what a word meant. Those were usually simple instructions, though. Nothing like the complexities of somebody with fluency in a language.
