While the younger wolves perhaps grew restless with bison-watching duties, Rhanno enjoyed it. He never knew he could be so...relaxed. The summer sun warmed his back as he lazed in the grasses, occasionally rolling in the dirt to scratch an itch. It was nice to not have any responsibilities to attend to other than pack hunts and protecting the borders — and bison — from invaders. He even liked the fact that he no longer had to keep watch over Zoratto so he didn't run too far, though was still bitter over the fact that Rakharo had so candidly given him his freedom.

Yet all this loafing around and basking in the sun was unproductive. He would get fat. He was already old, he didn't need another reason for the Khalas to think him incapable. So when Azzaro's howl reached his ears, the man rolled onto his feet and trotted towards the source.

"You called, boy?" he said in Doth as he approached the dark-coloured male, his lips pulled into something that could possibly be thought of as a smile. He recognised him from the pack hunt. He was a strong boy, young and built like a true warrior. Of all the wolves Rhanno hated, he felt like he hated this boy the least.
