Hoshor Plains cool for the summer

She saw the wolf in the same instant it noticed her. Their eyes locked. Regipre stared for a moment, her expression blank, before instinct told her to drop her gaze. She also dropped the bone on the ground. Slowly, the young coyote stood, though her head and tail remained low. She had only lived with the Hoshor Plains wolves for the first month of her life but already she head learned her place in the world. Coyotes were below wolves by default.

Although capable of speech at her age, little Reggie said nothing. Although her siblings babbled, she nearly never made a peep. She continued gazing in the wolf's general direction, waiting to see what it would do. She didn't fear the stranger, though she prepared to take off back to her mother's den if it proved dangerous.
