Witch's Marsh broken arrows

Reggie recoiled inwardly when the eyeless wolf nosed around her amputated leg. She felt bile rising in her throat, though his sudden departure distracted her. Her pale eyes followed him, watching with trepidation as he navigated elsewhere. She was impressed despite herself. If he could learn to get around without eyes, surely she would be able to adapt to life with only three legs.

But would she even survive the trauma? The young coyote waited (it wasn't like she had much choice) and realized she had never felt weaker. By the time the blind wolf returned, her head had sunk down to the ground. Regipre didn't lift it when he came closer; she couldn't. Her ears twitched slightly when he spoke to her. She was curious about the plants but found she was having trouble even keeping her eyes open.

Scared she was dying, Reggie fought to stay awake. Fortunately (or unfortunately), he began to tend to the open wound and it shocked her awake. A breath hissed through her teeth and Regipe felt like she might pass out from the pain. As a matter of fact, she blacked out twice while the other youth wrapped the raw flesh with a makeshift poultice.

He seemed quite optimistic about her prognosis when all was said and done. Reggie could barely think for the pain wracking her body. She grit her teeth together, helpless as tears streamed silently down her cheeks. She was just grateful he couldn't see her cry.
