But even though his experience of Kisu's words was limited to the merest hint that something was occurring in the air around him, the little pup found the whole thing immensely exciting. Summoning every ounce of strength, he hoisted himself into the side of his father's face, pointed his squashed little muzzle in the direction of the eye (quite by chance), and opened his small, toothless mouth into his very first, very worst smile.
