Firestone Hot Springs A nice dip for the weary traveler

The masked boy stumbled, his feet tired of walking for so long. He had watched the cold starry sky turn into another day, for he had traveled all night. If his feet weren't in so much pain, he felt like he could still go on but he knew it was time to call it quits. Suddenly, the smell of death hit the inside of his nostrils and he sneezed loudly. It didn't really smell like a dead body, but perhaps this was the smell of the underground where Hades lived, taking lives without a sorry. It felt warmer here though, another sign of Hell in his mind but his body liked the heat way too much to turn around now. He walked further, ignoring the horrible smell that made his head pound.

Water was the first thing he heard, but not the streaming kind. This was no river, nor the sea for it was too soft. At least, he thought so, having never encountered the ocean or the sounds that it made. His nose was getting used to the grim smell, and he soon found himself at the edge of a hot spring. He had no idea what it was, but he felt the warmth coming off of it and he slowly dipped his muzzle in the wetness. As soon as the warm water made contact with his cold face a chill ran down his spine, and he knew now that this was the perfect place to rest his feet. He slowly put his left front leg in the heated water as to see how deep it was, and when his paw hit the ground of the big puddle at a reasonable depth, he got in. He closed his eyes in delight, soaking out the weariness of his bones and sighed. Finally, a place to rest, he thought.
