While Mason had felt guilty for not spending too much time with him, Alastor seemed to feel doubly so for having forgotten something from weeks ago. It had been his responsibility to obtain a gift for the younger male, and yet he hadn't. Back then, he'd been stuck in a rut, unable to pull himself from the gutters of his mind, and had pushed the task to the back of his thoughts. From there it'd been buried, covered and hidden by so many other ideas and plans that he'd eventually forgotten about it entirely. The fact that it was supposed to be a Secret Santa-type deal seemed to make the situation worse, as he knew the reason the boy had never been given anything. Even still, he remained quiet about the matter, only starting some small talk here and there during their trek.

When the two had come to a stop, Alastor had taken his time with getting a drink, lapping at the water slowly as it chilled and rehydrated his throat. He'd then sat back as Mason paddled through the pool, giving his own legs an opportunity to rest. At the question, the Greek shrugged, not quite sure. "We could," the male began. "Though perhaps we should ease into it, keep them from taking offense or getting suspicious." Some packs were more private with their affairs, after all.
