Even if said limits were pitiful, the only thing Wednesday needed to do was end up on top of the other and gain that advantage. Wednesday was convinced the other had caught her in her lie, and so she felt she had nothing to lose. There was more than enough time for Caiaphas to make a clean getaway as the numbskull fantasized, if she so pleased.
