First, there came stuttering. The loss of words, something that prevented him from predicting in what direction the conversation would turn. He had laid all of his cards out on the table, and it was far too late to retract them. In the end, that was what mattered most—the fact that he'd been honest with her. No longer was he forcing the feelings down in an attempt to smother them. No, he was now embracing them, having accepted what it was that he felt. He could no better deny his heart than a fish could walk on land, and so never again would he attempt to do so.
The first thing she said made him frown, deeply. "I think you are," he commented, before once again falling silent to allow her the air to speak. Everything after that pleased him, bringing a slight smile to his face. "I like you a lot, too." As he spoke he moved closer, head having to lower a bit in order for him to touch his muzzle against her own. From there, he then applied some pressure, wishing to turn her head back to face him. He wanted to look her in the eyes, to see every visible emotion. "There's a first for everything," he voiced. "I can't ignore how I feel, especially not after this..." Kove just couldn't sit back and let her slip through his paws. With Scarlett, he had allowed that—he'd been able to allow it. With Nemesis, however, he felt he couldn't keep away from her. No matter what, he knew he wouldn't be able to maintain any distance.
