vuk stumbled as she whirled in a circle of confusion. she did not know how she had come to be where she was, between two melting drifts; she felt the teeth of another wolf find her flank, and feverishly leant toward it. her own lips found the chin of the nameless beta -- vuk was relieved it was he who had found her. and yet her mind shouted within itself that she could not! that it would not be allowed.

a horrified yelp was wrung from the girl as taggarik thundered onto the scene; through the haze of confusion, vuk was gripped with fear, and though her wide turquoise eyes moved to capriccio, though the girl desperately wished to crawl across the snow to her alpha female and cower at her paws in lieu of an apology, vuk remained as she was, scrabbling out of the way of the males and curling herself in a nearby drift, tail tucked tightly between her legs.
