Scavenging was a familiar task for Maude. Perhaps it was not the same for the other members of the pack (especially Daddy's boy), but hunger wasn't something that was unfamiliar, or even uncomfortable to her. Sure, the caches were low and she needed to fill them, but she could last a few more days. It wouldn't be the first time she slept hungry for weeks on end.

Maude regained a ingrained rhythm of scavenging, moving from one area to the next in an almost circular pattern. She was semi-successful in hunting for sea life — A half-eaten fish and a small crab were the major two successes that she picked up and carried inland as night fell. The pirate hummed a shanty to herself as she looked for the nearest caches, seeing a grey wolf wandering about as she neared a hole she recognized. Ahoy! She called, dropping the two prizes.
